I don't have the pic, but I can give you a run down.
There are two trilogies in the series.
1-2-3
4-5-6
Both of those trilogies should be played in order as they play off of the previous entries in the game. Any other game can be played in any order.
Best versions:
1&2
The guide says SNES, but I disagree with them there. While it is the most graphically pleasing, there are a shit ton of bugs in the game left over by the translators, including 3 GAME-ENDING bugs in Dragon Quest 2 that will fuck you over. If you're willing to be a scrub and play with a guide, you can play the SNES version. Otherwise, the actual best version is the Game Boy version, which is based off of the SNES version.

SNES version looks and feels better
GBC version has a few extra sidequests and bonus dungeon if you like to grind. But otherwise you're not missing much and I haven't heard anything about the patch.
4, 5, 6
DS versions. Supposedly, 4's mobile version is "better", but only because it includes the party chat feature, which honestly isn't that important and doesn't add too much to it. But it's cheap on mobile if you're willing.
7, 8
3DS versions by far from what we've seen. Also be sure to pick up the 3DS versions just specifically to tell Squenix that we DO want DQ here.

Wait on it. The main feature of the game, the WiFi, has been shut down because of the old nintendo servers. However, recently, the creator of the series Yuji Hori said on the 30th anniversary stream that 9 is the one he would like to remake the most.

As someone who likes the GBC version, I would say that the sole warning I'd give is that the tiny resolution makes some things a pain in the ass to deal with, such as sailing. That said, you can get a stat-boost seed earlier than normal, which is kinda cool.

Hell, I've said it before, but 7PS1 and 73DS are barely different enough that it might be worth playing both, especially if you like fucking with class systems. I still think taking out the hybrid skill system was bullshit. Should have just fixed it up, added new ones, and rebalanced some of the skills, maybe putting sword dance as one of the last hero or godhand skills instead of making it so easy to get early on. It makes falcon slash fucking pointless.

That's done. It's been done for years. Some of the names are different though, particularly for items, armor, and weapons. Others are just the JP original names.
