Why change the core of their series? Link is the protagonist and has always been. Leave the "thinking outside of the box" for relevant storytelling, gameplay mechanics, visuals, and music. Twilight Princess: Forced to make changes after backlash from Wind Waker. No Tingle, no cartoony artstyle, adult Link. Aonuma still manages to project his homosexuality in the game: Link appears shirtless in the game wrestling with older men. Link is older, yet much more feminine than his previous adult incarnations
Skyward Sword: Given too much liberty by Nintendo so he injects his homosexuality in the games again. Link is even more feminine than before. Ghirahim acts like a sexual predator towards Link and is an obvious self-insert for Aonuma.
Breath of the Wild: Link starts the game in his underwear. You can keep him in his underwear throughout the game. Some of this other costumes are still shirtless. Still has a feminine face. Has vagina bones despite those being censored in Tokyo Mirage.
