Combat in general fails to keep up around midgame which is a shame because it starts really promising
I like this game, it had time travel mechanics that weren't completely nonsensical. Combat was pretty unique and fun.

Traps were overpowered, there were an annoying number of implausible instant-death options when you have to make a big choice, and some of the cast was pretty cliche.
That being said, I still loved it. The grid combat was interesting, chaining combos was fun, and I ended up really digging the storyline. The villain was my favorite from any recent vidya I've played.

Certainly one of the best JRPG on the DS alongside TWEWY, HGSS and Strange Journey.
Good story, clever time travel gimmick, interesting combat system which is a refined version of FFX's.
Would replay it on a newer system since mypiratedDS is broken.
Combat is too easy and hardest bosses in the game don't use any of the unique mechanics game has.
