Okay let me explain it a bit better.
Have you noticed how some people have a star below their portrait border? That means they have reached level 101 and were reset back to 1.
Every time you reach level 101 you get reset back to level 1 but with an addition to your portrait border. (pic is incorrect but you get the idea)
But the main benefit is that experience needed to level up also resets again, so you can rush in no-time through those first 22 levels again to get a lot of lootboxes.
