No one is going to buy a console over 600 dollars. Every company saw what happened to sonys ps3 launch. No one will want to make a bold move like that. As tech moves forward, die shrinks get smaller meaning more transistors, better architecture and more power efficiency. I think what Microsoft is going for is console generations that are like iPad generations, it'll be backwards compatible with all Xbox One games just like PCs are with PC games, and new games can run on any Xbox that's powerful enough. Well I was talking about my personal experiences during those times. Didn't know about the Chan during those times. So I'm guessing it was much worse here. I used to get shit on by Xbox owners because I decided to save my money and get a ps3 instead.
It was fun watching the Xbox fall hard after the first few years. Playstation pulled through once they were releasing a new exclusive monthly for like a 1 1/2 years straight. All of which were rated 9 and higher.
Anyway, it doesn't matter much since any real gamer will eventually own all consoles for the gen. This current gen is the only one where I have yet to do so simply because Microsoft hasn't given me an excuse to get an Xbox. Sony sorta buttered me up because I know they never fail when it comes to exclusives. I'll get a neo for sure but I think I'll pass on Xbox for this gen.

Many of their games were at least interesting to look at. I liked how several of them were set up as surprises. Some games took too long, and I can't stand the "character verbally reacts to thing" every 10 seconds anymore.
The Crash announcement was probably the most I've been disappointed this year.
I'm happy The Last Guardian has a release date now, but the Playstation Neo ruined that excitement since I'm not going to buy the base PS4 model now.

It seems cool actually. I like the idea of having headphones and a screen attached to my face not just for the "immersion" but the privacy of it and that it's small and portable. No issues with glare or viewing angles either and the resolution and refresh rate will most likely be top-quality given Sony's experience making TVs, and the sound quality as well given their experience making studio monitor headphones. If anyone's positioned to do VR right, it's them. I'm a college student living in a small apartment so $399 is in my price range given the amount of time I have to accumulate money for it and I only really use my TV for game consoles.
Then there's the "new experiences" side of the coin which seems very interesting. Most of what I've heard from people who've used VR has been entirely positive and the lineup for VR compatibility they showed at the conference seems impressive. If Final Fantasy XV is a knock-out then I'll be pleased to play the entire game with the headset on, third person or in VR mode.

Sony showed exciting blips of gameplay footage for games that will probably be great. Spiderman is probably going to be terrific, The Last Guardian will probably be great as well given how monumental its predecessors were. Square kind of lost my trust years ago but the sheer size, breadth, and quality of production demonstrated by XV has me excited. The Death Stranding tease is something to look forward to as well.
The only games Microsoft showed that I was interested in were We Happy Few and Cuphead which are being released simultaneously on toaster-tier PCs.

PC gaming is unattractive to people for lots of reasons. If PS4 locked up the console market then this gen is looking to be a repeat of the PS2 era. If Xbox One is only capable of playing certain PC games and not others then who gives a fuck.
The faults with Xbox One are numerous, the clunky now-abandoned by Microsoft Windows 8 metro interface, the corporate advertising and screenjunk everywhere, it's just fucking garbage. I visited home recently where my dad bought an Xbox One for my little brother, I got Just Cause 3 from Red Box and while I was waiting for it to install, I tried to play Madden with my little brother. First I had to make an account with Microsoft to play local multiplayer, get my dad's password to make an account, sync that account to the net, then make an EA Origin account with the same problems. All in all it was about an hour to get Madden started then another 2 hours for Just Cause 3, released days ago at the time and, to install.
Every install for PS4, unless there's some massive patch out, has only interrupted me about 5 minutes. The interface is simple and you can see pretty much every menu at a glance.
Xbox One is just objectively shit.

I still think M$ won. UBI/EA/beth had nothing really. Sony had kojima senpai show a teaser that wad pretty sick, but was still nothing of substance shown. They had 10 billion generic cinematic/open world shitshow games. And they gave a giant fuck you to Crash fans reminiscent of the conker project spark shitshow. The new Cod actually looked different and somewhat intresting though, didn't even know it was cod till the end.
Pc show had cool gameplay of mount and blade and deus ex looks amasing
Still m$ had substance forza horizon 3 looks awsome, same as scaleboind, that joypill game and a couple others i forget now. They had hardware as well, etc.
Ofc im sure this post is useless and I will now be told that games that are locked down to your shitty system are the only ones that count. And you refuse to play games that are on pc or xbox or whatver and that it has to be one or the other.

Looking at a few sites there was a Q&A where kojima productions themselves stated it would be a timed exclusive for PS4 and would get ported to PC later on, but it got removed. It makes a lot of sense that they wouldn't say (also coming to PC) when they're making their big "new" console, so I'm fairly certain, but we'll just have to wait and see.
