Later on it's shown that Ares FORCED the madness that made Kratos kill his family, as a way to make him the perfect warrior that could take on the gods.
And it worked.
I knew this game would be dug up from its rest and ruined eventually.
The people did their best to hold it off by ending 3 completely and utterly with no room for a sequel, but it could only work so long.

The thing is DMC doesn't have competent level or enemy design. It's like a sandbox. Yes you have huge movesets and all sorts of random cancels and shit, but the only purpose they serve is for combo videos online. They don't add any depth to the actual game as an action title.
