All they had to do was make a good blend of horror and action. Instead they made an all out action shooter (that Biohazard whatever game its called), then made a 1st person indie walking horror simulator.
Personally, I thought a full game with Leon's story from RE6 would have been perfect. I thought his campaign had a good blend of action and horror. Especially the first chapter.
