They were never going to go back to old style fixed camera RE, and we're finally away from the over the shoulder action movie cancer (although I do think RE4 is fantastic). The video is labeled as Tape 1 and it's evident that it's supposed to be someone filming it. So I think that the first chapter, or level, or tape, or even the demo, is meant to be a sort of introductory thing. Someone goes into this old mansion and films everything, creepy shit starts happening, they get captured and dragged around, they get free, they're unarmed, they're sneaking around, they have to escape. Two things happen from here:
The person filming dies. It cuts to someone watching the tape. The police or someone goes to investigate.
Or, the person does actually escape and they maybe get a weapon or something. They keep exploring the plantation and find more and more wrong in it.
With both scenarios, everything goes down hill from there. There's infected or something killing people, maybe some kind of lab in the basement. You have to figure out what's going on in the entire estate and get away. Maybe there's a small village or other plantations near by that are all infected people, like RE4 or The Evil Within.

Are you guys genuinely this stupid? I get the love for the classic style of survival horror game play, with REmake being one of my all time favorite games, but RE4 tried something new in a good way. The creators handled the new control setup and emphasis on gunplay in a really fun and engaging way, and created a fucking fantastic game. Instead of actually putting effort into 5 though, what we got was a soulless retread of 4 with none of the care, charm, or atmosphere. 6 tried to course correct by fully committing to the over top action, and the end result was still nowhere as good as 4 was. Blaming the series problems on 4 alone is wrong. If 7's new style of gameplay is even the slightest bit close to how well 4 handled it's new approach, we're in for a treat.
