I get price-points and value-per-dollar affects a lot of people's buying power. In a hobby like gaming though, where technology is pushed every day and games cost $30+, you have to realize that it's already an expensive hobby. Steam has sales, which are great, but there are definitely tiers for different types of games, each requiring different hardware specs, and the higher-tiered graphic-intensive games require higher pricing.
Games for VR require a dedicated peripheral that costs more money because it is designed for a new fidelity/genre of gaming.
A lot of people spend $120+ on keyboards, mice, and monitors already, so VR is just a new set that eats those funds instead of being spent on the latest model.
VR is very cool, and people need to try it.
I do feel bad for the majority of people who can't afford it because VR is something to behold.tbqh, I think psvr is going to be iffy, I can't see people running games very well on a current PS4's hardware
