So, something mods have been doing for five years only worse? I don't get it. Is there better AI, combat, anything? How is this anything for literally anyone to get excited over. Like, even the BETTER GRAFIX argument holds no water because mods already do this but better.

1) it's mostly for console players. remember: people who played this game on ps3 played it at 600p resolution, sub-30 fps, and with massive save game bugs and it was just an all around nightmare of a game on 7th gen. for console players, this is a big step forward. also some mods will be on console
2) you say "omething mods have been doing for five years only worse" but that's not true. ENB was not a proper solution and the new lighting and AA being added are better than that mods could provide.
3) "Is there better AI, combat, anything?". it's a remaster, not a remake. since when do remasters remake the gameplay? since never.
4) for pc players, this is basically a free update that brings some much needed engine updates to skyrim (skyrim ran on dx9 and had ran and vram limitations). this means that skyrim "special edition" will be a more stable platform for modding the game even further.

If they don't allow a way for script extenders to work, there's going to be only the most shallow of mods to install, however. Hardly the "full power of modding".
