I can say no to two of those, and I could run a non-Google centric OS on my phone if I desire.
However the difference between Google and W10 is the fact that one's completely optional search engine that also happens to collect data, while the other's the latest big version of the most used mainstream PC OS, which means it will somewhat dictate what and how you can do things in the future.
Google won't remove your files and programs on machines you're utilizing, and won't brick your system by forcing updates not only to their software, but the machines hardware. Both which W10 does.

I have never in my life had a problem like that that could not easily be circumvented. All the really old games can at the very least be played full-speed on a VM or emulator. If you use Linux and have VT-d/AMD-vi feature for your CPU and two GPUs, then you can make a Windows virtual machine that plays games at 95-98% performance.
Virtual machine is basically being able to load a OS while you're still inside another OS (i.e., no need to reboot and both the main system and the game system at your fingertips at once). It also has no bugs unlike Wine.
The 95-98% performance part needs some advanced setup, though. Look up "GPU passthrough", if you're interested.

Starting an OS while the other one is still running is virtual machines. It's a program that literally simulates the workings your hardware, and runs another OS on it. Servers have been using it for decades, home users too.
Now, historically, loading a VM caused massive slowdowns, because, in particular simulating GPU and CPU is kinda hard. Sure, the other hardware might be problematic at times, but it isn't nearly as bad as CPUs and GPUs, since these are the ones that need to be quick, and simulating basically means you have to ask host OS for permission every time you want to do anything with them.
Until not long ago, specific technologies were included in CPU that allow you to: a) just pass through instructions to your real CPU if you're simulating the same on as your real one; b) take one of your GPUs, disconnect it from the host OS, and just directly connect it to the guest OS for no latency (also possible with other hardware, technically). With Intel they are called VT-x and VT-d, VT-d implies having VT-x, not sure about what AMD calls them.
95-98% performance VMs literally is just a VM that uses these new capabilities, and so most of the natural slowdown disappears. Virtual machines become usable for even resource-intensive gaming. Technically it's even more secure that way.
