Hated this shit. Games where you could choose to use the turrets for an advantage like HL2 and Halo CE did this the best.

I hate this type of shit in games. Just one fucking problem after another. The game just fucking dumps a laundry list of shit you have to do to open some door or get on an elevator. I especially noticed this at the beginning of System Shock 2.
