I really wanted to like ACV/Verdict Day, and I liked that they seemed to be trying something new, but the only thing that really ended up being cool was the custom emblems. Like, I had fun with it for about the same reason I liked FORZA even though I hate racing games.
However, Miyazaki's got a pretty decent head for game design when he actually gives a shit about what he's doing. The level of detail present in Dark Souls 1 is proof of that. I think if he gets his hands on Armored Core we may finally get AC going in a new, possibly good direction.

Bloodborne was actually bogged down by it's ties to souls.

Bloodborne would've been a better game if it:

>Remove the weapon upgrade system and instead have your weapons upgrade either based on kills, or just don't upgrade at all
Basically it would make it so you weren't tied to one weapon the entire game, like most action games. Souls is pretty fucking bad in that regard.
By removing stats you eliminate stat requirements for weapons, and things like the Executioners Gauntlets. It means you can actually use stuff that you find instead of having a +7 Sawcleaver, then picking up a +0 Tonitrus and never using it because it's so grossly outclassed.
It would've been an even better game if wasn't so Souls-like.

I think Souls capped out at Dark Souls honestly. At least in terms of being interesting with the mechanics. I dislike Bloodborne because it took the same formula, but made the exploration element less useful because most weapons and such are tied to badges. Most of the world pickups are just QSB or Vials as a result, which you can just buy anyways.
