Default Skyrim was basically blanketed in a fog of light. Modern ENBs clear it up so you need lighting overhauls that add powerful light-emitting objects back into the game.

Overall skyrim is 6.5/10 for me. The atmosphere and landscapes are well done to look like Scandinavia in the summer.
Other than that everything else is mainly pure shit. AI is shit. Story is shit. Characters are shit. 90% of quests are boring garbage that all feel half assed because they have to be voiced. The UI is absolutely 100% terrible, some games from the 90s have better UI.
Combat is pure shit & has always been pure shit. Something akin to Dragons Dogma would be a step up in TES. The RPG mechanics have been dumbed down even a 12 year old could figure it out which is the point.

I don't know about sunrise but that definitely happens during sunset on some days where I am.
I actually enjoy playing Skyrim with mods but the crashing just kills it for me.
I've never been able to get it stable. I can play for 2 hours and not crash. Sometimes I can't go 10 minutes. Sometimes I'll get a crash when I try to load a save. Then I'll reload that save and it will suddenly work.
And I don't even use an absurd amount of mods. Maybe 70 tops and most don't make any drastic changes. And I spend a lot time reading up on them and that everything is compatible but the crashes persist.

I been fiddling with my Skyrim trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong for well over a couple hundred hours on and off. I think I'll just give up now and pick up modding again when the next version comes along with this shit. In all honesty it hurts though after a fresh install it took around 300-400 hours to get everything up and working fully without crashing and being seamless. For fuck sake I had open cities working with all the fucking mods I had. Hundreds of mods, a ton third party and not found on the nexus or workshop and my memory shot to shit because of so much fucking time spent from start to finish trying to micromanage all the shit. I don't think I could redo it all perfectly again.

this might be bait, but there are retards that genuinely believe this, that a video game is the same as passive media like film or sculpture, vidya is different to passive media because the player has a degree of control over their experience, this is also why video games will never be considered 'art' because when you try to make video games 'art' (like gone home, sunset etc.) you strip control from the player and make it less of a game. mods are a part of this player control and a part of what makes vidya unique in the realm of media.

There's like 10's of thousands of mods for skyrim. Some of the magic mods are amazing, dragon combat overhaul and new dragon species really do fix one of the major selling points of skyrim being dragon battles.
Yeah the graphics mods do look amazing but they were always limited by skyrims engine which made anything beyond 100m look terrible. I hope this remaster increases the grids that load or the lod quality. If it doesn't then this remaster is an absolute waste.
