When I've heard BF is going to be WWI I thought it's breaking the mold and walks away from 400,000 other run and gun shooters. Expected grim, foggy atmosphere, people with 1000 yard stares huddling in ditches, ankle deep in mud, shit and guts, waiting for the bombardment to end and the eventual sound of whistle so they can charge at machineguns screaming and hoping to not get shredded by bullets, or step on a landmine or get gassed to death before you get to bayonet some fucker in the face, then it turns out it's another fucking bright colored run and gun shooter BUT WAIT! THIS TIME WITH SHIT GUNS, PROP PLANES AND BLIMPS! The only thing missing is a fucking Indiana Jones theme playing in the background.

I watched the multiplayer match and it's literally the same game only with a WW1 theme.
The tanks don't behave like WW1 tanks.
The planes don't behave like WW1 planes.
Weapons don't behave like WW1 fireamrs (lol automatic rifles)
There is no trenches, no mud, no artillery, no gas, no dark atmosphere, no close combat, no bayonett charges, no barbed wire, no horses, no machinegun nests, etc.
Most importantly it doesn't have the tone or pace of WW1 battles, it's the same quasi-urban combat all other battlefields game had.
Don't get me wrong, battlefield is a fun game, but after EA went out of the way to hype it as "we are going were no shooter gone before" "most liked video on youtube" "authentic early 20th century warfare" this was a major letdown.
