I honestly think this will be an awesome game which won't get boring for a long time because there is so much to do.

.....YEEEAH

>so much to do

Anon, you're going to have so much fun playing Elite Dangerous 1.5

>Land on planet
>Mine
>Upgrade ship, possibly murder locals
>Repeat ten thousand times
>>
Oh honey...
>>
Yeah, I actually think this one might deliver.

The devs are a wild card.

>any space sim game ever
>>
Where the fuck do you guys come from? You're like a cult with this shit.
>>
a look a new planet!
>blue dinosaur planet
ok, let's check out this other planet
>yellow furry planet
here we go
>red planet with nothing but minerals
n-nice I guess, what else is there...
>green planet with dinosaur
not bad, they're cool! NEXT!
>purple planet with crystals and monkeys
fine, I guess that's enough FUN for a day!
>>
>>340920732
I don't know about that.

What I do know is that acting like this game is the worst game ever released before it even released is the most retarded thing I've ever seen.
>>
>>340920732
I think they haven't shown much because they don't want to spoil anything. Like the dev said, the game's basically only about exploration, space should feel unknown and mysterious to keeps things realistic and exciting.
>>
>>340923291
Translation
>No matter how many different animals we make they will start to look boring and repetitive in no time at all because we could never come close to meaningfully populating a million, billion planets
>>
>>340924319
Well colors and shapes are not infinite, my friend.
>>
S P O R E
>>
>>340924521
in reality they are

Thank you for being honest

I wish.
>>
>>340927284
Are you retarded?
>>
>>340928643
he's right, we are simply limited by our eyes to only see a few of them
>>
>>340928643
>>340929084
no two snowflakes are the same and that is only one kind of shape
>>
>>340920732
Why does /v/ hate this game so much?
>>
>>340930019

If you don't know the answer to that question you haven't been here long enough.
>>
>>340920732
I honestly think you're in for a world of disappointment
>>
>>340929367
there are a finite amount of images your computer monitor is capable of displaying

Assuming you're 1080p with a 8bpp monitor, that number is (2^24)^(1920x1080)
>>
>>340930874
I believe you're mixing up images with pixels.
>>
>>340931172
I'm not mixing up anything, I'm talking about a computer monitor
>>
>>340930874
I think you're way underestimating how many images are in the universe.
https://babelia.libraryofbabel.info/imagebookmark2.cgi?babelia_2317073...42495149
>>
>>340933365
(2^24)^(1920x1080) can also be expressed as 10^(10^(7.175546)), or a number with nearly 15 million digits

There are a measly 10^81 atoms in the known universe, by comparison

Point being is that even the very large are still finite, and nothing is truly infinite

Literally space engineers

>>340934432
Yes now imagine viewing every configuration of those atoms from every point in the universe. For in tents and purposes, infinity.
>>
>>340920732
I think it'll be a great game and I want to play it which is why we totally need to send death threats to the developers for delaying the game!
This is literally what someone thought
>>
So a walking sim with the objective of getting to the center of this universe with virtually no multiplayer interaction.
What do I miss if I just watch 1 episode of a Lets Play where they reach the center ?
>>
>>340935036
How the fuck do you get to the center of the universe anyway?
Just
Head in the direction reality is more dense and energetic I guess?
You'd need to be able to go faster than the universe expands.
>>
Enemy Starfighter is on early access now as House of the Dying Sun
>>
I hate how they backpedaled about the multiplayer aspect.
>>
>>340935320
It's a game.
>implying it grows outwardly at the same rate
>>
>>340920732
Why do you keep doing this to yourself?
>>
>>340935560
Lol what multiplayer?
>>
>>340933365
>https://babelia.libraryofbabel.info/imagebookmark2.cgi?babelia_2317073...42495149
what is this site supposed to be
>>
>>340935560
They never announced any multiplayer aspect. It's always been people fabricating things in their own heads. From the start they just said you might encounter places others have been. Even that they've been vague about.
>>
>>340936031
An infinite library of all books and images ever written or that ever will be written.
>>
>>340936395
>infinite
There's that word again
>>
>>340920732
Already sounds boring as fuck.

>>
>>340936098
Sorry, getting conflicting answers. There's confirmed no multiplayer?
>>
>>340936395
It can't possibly contain them, it must generate them deterministically

Though I doubt even that much, it probably generates random garbage and lets you upload your own images/words to bookmark as if this is a real thing
>>
>>340937607
Yes there is, albeit a mutilated version of multiplayer in which you will never see any other player because of "hurr such vast game meme".

Nice trips.
It contains them the same way Space Engine contains a whole universe full of planets. Babel contains a whole "universe" full of ascii text. Everything that has ever been, or is yet to be written is in there somewhere. You just need the address.
>>
I'm looking forward to it if only because it's an offline sandbox that I can chill and just listen to music to.

this sounds rad to me breh
