What's there to explain? That fight was essentially a preview of Young Xehanort in DDD, even though you have absolutely no way of knowing what his deal is at the time. Even after playing it, why he shows up in BBS is anyone's guess. I'm not sure how canon secret boss fights are aside from Xemnas in KHFM.
