In addition, you may either love or hate the battle system since you play as support rather than control every move. Think of it like coaching. Exploration-wise, you're stuck in one town, but it's a massive one, with alleyways and sewers for looking around every nook and cranny. It can be immersive if you're trying to relive your childhood days in the city. It can be difficult to navigate though as the map doesn't track side quests or label streets/districts until you enter them.
Dialog is...eh. As a comedy aimed at a younger audience it's riddled with humor and/or puns that can get a good chuckle here and there, but you might not like it if that isn't your thing. This mostly applies to the sidequests. The ending is pretty impactful though.

Yeah the game is great, but nothing too innovative. It's very comfy, something like a Pokemon level of comfiness. Going around a big city recruiting new monsters to help people and fight evil Yokai. The gameplay is very simple (Yokai fight on their own, but you control who is out in front and can make them more prone to defend, attack, heal, etc.), but there's enough variety in Yokai you can add some strategy. The RNG stuff is my biggest gripe, along with how short the main story is. Most your time will be doing sideqests (that are optional) and trying to befriend Yokai. I'd give it an 8/10 personally.
And yeah the anime is good, pretty solid humor and shorts (imagine shows like the Powerpuff Girls where there are 5 to 10 minute segments broken up).
