/v/, are there any games that you think are underrated?
i think killer is dead is underrated. the combat is really fun and the campaign is hilarious and weird. i like the music and art style. everyone wanted to talk about my soggy knees when this game came out and that issue overshadowed the game itself.

Kid Icarus Uprising
Too many people fell for the broken hands meme and missed out on a game that has so much effort and heart put into it.
Great soundtrack, fun gameplay, some of the best graphics on the 3DS, entertaining banter, lots of weapon variety, and a pretty fun multiplayer mode.

There are people who have literally sprained their wrists playing that game.
It's fun as hell, but you can't really forgive the control scheme. I love it too death, but I HAD to put that game down constantly to let my hands rest.

if you take a small break between every few chapters you're completely fine. Doesn't really break the pacing either. May sound intrusive, but the game's so good regardless that it's worth it.

i have to be very careful with my hands though, i'm in a performance major at my school. playing the piano, i have to take breaks and loosen up every half hour or so no matter what game it is. just wondering if that game is significantly worse or even damaging. i feel like it's probably not worth the risk to find out.

Who knows. If you're that worried about straining your hands, then sure, maybe you'll want something that's less weird in the controls side. I've never personally felt any particular pain or strain from playing it that's any worse than other games, but judging from other accounts, it may vary from person to person.

To answer your question, it's a pretty typical Grasshopper Manufacture/Suda51 game, so it's gonna be pretty subjective depending on your feelings toward them.

It's funny, KiD had stronger mechanical depth AND hotter women than either Killer7 or NMH, yet I can't say it's better than either game. The campaign was alright but so thematically incoherent that it didn't have the impact of those other games, the side missions ranged from okay to annoying, and as cute as the girls are the gigolo missions were offensively boring, like I am offended that interacting with these girls was as unexciting as it was. I don't even know how that makes sense but somehow KiD pulled that dubious distinction off. Whatever though, I'd still Scarlett any day of the week.

Well, those ones are all good. But go to GoG or somewhere and look through the RPG titles and there's a lot of trash. Also it was always a pretty niche genre to begin with, until Elder Scrolls took off

While we're talking Suda, NMH2 is an underrated gem. It's better than the first game in every way. It's one of my favorite character action games, no joke. Solid 9/10 to me.
