/v/, I'm about to go cold turkey off of alcohol after drinking a liter a day.
What's a low stress game to play that will let me coast through few days? A game that won't take much thought but will draw me in enough to not think about my issues....
overwatch is a comfy casual shooter

I recently god somewhat addicted to The Witcher 3. I would say just find a good open world RPG to sink in a ton of hours into.

Yeah, i quit smoking cold turkey twice and I died both times.
Max Payne 3
ace attorney. super engaging storylines, and as a bonus all references to alcohol are replaced with "grape juice" so the characters won't be constantly reminding you about that thing you aren't drinking

Alcohol withdrawal can kill you, smoking withdrawal cannot.
OP, you should not go cold turkey after a liter per day. Get a hospital to detox you, or if you must, taper.

Tapering is the plan. Taking Valerian Root to supplement and calm down the withdrawals. Worst case, will hit up a doctor.
Very aware of the risks I'm facing. Hoping that isolation, gaming and herbs can ward off the worst before I have to escalate it. I've been doing at least a liter of liquor a day for a year now,

Check out /r/cripplingalcoholism too, they will be able to help you a lot more than /v/.

Play a city builder or something that you can reliably kill all your free time with. I find that when I get really into vidya, I can ignore the symptoms somewhat.
If strategy/ simulation games aren't your thing, play something that requires concentration and thinking, not something that is toocasual. Basically, nothing that will make you go "fuck this would be better if I was drunk/ high".
Point and clicks and build sims work wonders for me.
I actually played 999 and VLR only when I was hungover and loved them both. I suggest these two if you have a 3ds
