G-Guys? Disc rotting is real.
This is not a drill!
This why you buy the version with lossless audio.
I tried to play burnout paradise the other day and saw it was all splotchy. I don't even know how it happens. Did I store it wrong? It was in its case and on the shelf man
this doesn't affect my sealed game albums, right? I already invested $200 in them
>>340811325
>got PS1 games from when I was 13
>turn 27 next month
>not a single thing wrong with them
Feels good.
Nigger it's not a fucking laserdisc
>>340811770
Same here, my ps1 and ps2 games work fine.
>>340811521
I opened the box where I keep them because there was some humidity on the environment.
>>340811550
Open them right away to check them out.

>>340812401

>>340811771
Fucking this. The only things that suffer disc rot are laser discs an Chinese bootlegs.
>>340812431
Only if you like store your hard drives on magnets.
>>340812431

I don't have to worry. I'm good for a thousand years.

Satan pls go

you are only good for 60 more years
>>340812679
>inorganic data layer
wait a second this implies that regular CDs are alive
>>340812492
Despite that discussion being the r4 disc.
I have a couple of CDs having the same thing.
>>340812837
organic =/= alive dipshit

>>340814798
I'm not sure how a shelf full of rotten disks is in anyway better.
>disc rot on a game that came out less than a decade ago
No.
>>340815016
Anything is bound to collapse, the thing is how well it sustains.
Physical>Digital.
>>340814798
You do realize hard drives are literally just a bunch of discs stacked together, right? And the game itself is just data stored on those discs?
It's no different than actual physical games, but it's a lot more convenient.
>>340812837
I prefer organic, grass-fed disks myself.
>>340811325
Of course it's real, but it's not something that's gonna happen to all discs. This shit happens if you are unlucky and have air bubbles in between disc layers or just don't take care of your discs. For example, leaving them in a humid environment isn't gonna keep them safe.
>>340811325
>keep all my games in their cases like a responsible person
>they are all completely fine
It's really not hard.
>>340816819
>leave some of my discs out their cases in shit environments and keep some in their cases
>they are still all fine
I think it's luck
Yeah, disc rotting is real. But it's manufacturing defect, not necessarily a natural thing.
>>340816252
>For example, leaving them in a humid environment isn't gonna keep them safe.
I'm op and I certify this.
disc rotting is real but only if live in a shit hole like florida, at that point you might as well go all digital
>>340813016

>>340821768

>>340825275
Autism begets autism. It not going away. As long as your able to shitpost it will only grow.
>>340811550
Disc rot while a thing is very unlikely to affect you until way after you're dead unless you bought a really shitty quality disc or stored them all in a dank swamp.
>>340811325
I'm suprised that worked, now flip the disc over.
