A setting about time travel and looking at a kingdom or place through the lenses of the party members biases and seeing how their own ideals and reflections of their own time interacts with one another.
Obviously the Time Mage and Dragon Knight would be on opposite sides of the time line and have the most obvious conflict with me and the rank and file dealing with and reacting to those characters, while grounding the story and giving the audience people to relate to. I mainly pick nameless so I can have another character besides me that is more neutral and vanilla to the story. But I suppose you could replace him for the Steam Knight instead to drive home the different generations theme more.

Back when I was involved with handling the UK day-time threads when /v/ was all about Bro Quest, I tried positing an idea for having 7 party members, but you could only take 3 on quests/missions while the other 4 were basically "team 2" and did things in the town/nearby camp while you were doing missions. I'd have had it so you would eventually have to switch team members in and out because of fatigue, and characters resting would produce items and other benefits while not in the party.
For example, Alchemist could create potions and elixirs, Dwarf Engineer would create gadgets, Masked Magician would make money from dubious con-games, Dick-Ass Thief would steal items for the party, etc... while they were not in your personal team.
Anyway, here is a semi-cringy proto-roster. I've got a whole folder filled with shit saved from /v/ thread brainstorm threads.

Since it was so long ago, I can't remember if I ever posited the idea in the original Bro Quest threads, so I'd like to see what people think of it.
Rather than choosing one Bad Guy to beat, all of them are active at the same time. You choose what order to do them in, and the world and story changes based on the order.
For example, if you leave the King and Nobleman for last, the major city emits a pillar of light which you go to investigate. The Nobleman and his Apocalypse cult have begun the countdown to the end of the world and taken over the city, Demons and Mad Cultists are everywhere and a pillar of light beams into the sky from the castle. The King is in hiding and you need to find him to find a secret way into the Castle, but end up fighting him as the second from last boss anyway.
OR
If you leave the King and Demon Weapon for last, the King gains possession of it and becomes all-powerful.

The problem with RPG Maker games is that you can take one glance at a game made in the program and tell it was made using it, either cause the people making it were too lazy to change art perspective or come up with something creative to make it stand out.

I had a long private discussion with several members of the team + Shwig and they all stop working on it and gave up on the entire thing a few years ago, after the Christmas Demo fiasco. There was only one person besides Shwig working, the rest were all idea guys and knew they had to lay it to rest before it was just ruined forever.And to answer your question, yes.
Shwig owns the rights to the designs by the way, so anyone ITT who wants to make some iteration of "BroQuest" needs to make their own characters, nice as his designs were.He just makes porn now
