I used to think of him as the representative of everything wrong with the game industry. Mainly because he ran the Spike VGAs, which were just so fucking terrible. I feel like a lot of you guys have forgotten just how bad they were, but they were atrocious.
But I guess around the time of the Doritosgate controversy, he'd had enough of the bullshit. And the VGX Awards were just the icing on the cake. He'd always loved games, but he had let himself be corrupted by the corporate side, and he was now a laughing stock of the industry. He now seems like he's learning from his mistakes. He still is very much of the awful corporate end of vidya, but he's showing signs of humility, and it's clear he does love vidyagaems.
Plus, as a lover of Kojima/MGS, It was fucking great of him to stick it to Konami at the Game Awards.
