It's another standard Kirby game.
I can't remember the last time they shook up the formula since amazing mirror. Game was fucking excellent. They should outsource more Kirby games so we get better than 'it's another Kirby game but with some new powers and gimmicks'.
It is ok. I enjoyed it while I played it but now I have a bad opinion about it.

9/10, fixes most of the issues Triple Deluxe had, I like the sci-fi theme, the robobot is more flexible than Hypernova & I adore the OST, it has some nice original tracks & remixes. My big complaint with it is I wish the robobot could use every ability & that it was on the Wii U, it already looks good as it is on the 3DS, if it was on the Wii U it'd look so great.

The mechs are fucking awesome, boss fights are fantastic but there are framerate problems when in 3D & it can take a bit to really pick up.

So many people, including myself, would agree that Triple Deluxe is a standout for the series and pure fun distilled into a 3DS cartridge. Great bosses, great levels, great shit all around. One of the best games in the whole series IMO.
Planet Robobot is better. In absolutely every way. The level design is WAAAAY more inspired and the Robobot armor blows Hypernova out of the water. Also the bosses are fucking incredible. If you thought the final bosses in TD were great then you're not fucking ready for what this game has in store for you.

Was it Star Dream that was corrupt, and then when plugged into Nova it used it's powers? I'm guessing they were aware of it being Nova, but maybe it was just 'another planet' to them, so they took it over and realized Nova was useful.

I couldn't help it, I got curious & at most thought it'd only hurt me. Good thing it's super fast to do the True Arena when you use Wheel.
Is it necessary to collect all of the cubes or are they just there for the sake of completionism? I've been hounding around for them like a mad dog since the first level and got them all, but if there is no need to do so I was thinking of rushing through.

Dreamland 2 is a great all around game with good music and probably the best level design in the series, but it has a very slow and somewhat poor first two worlds.
Dreamland 3 is a slower, more explorative game than Superstar with a very soft art aesthetic. Every level has a puzzle, some more difficult than others. FanfuckingTASTIC music though.
Return to Dreamland is basically Kirby's Adventure: HD Remix (Multiplayer version).
Squeak Squad is fun, has some of the best powers in the series, but is super short (emulate it, and expect to 100% it in 3 hours or so).
I'd rank Robobot above SS and RtDL, possibly a little above DL3 or at least equal, and on par or slightly lower than the last half of DL2.

Look at Haltman's fight, he shoots golden Susies at you and his Haltmann dollars have Susies printed on them. He clearly has an unhealthy attachment to Susie, or rather someone who looks exactly like her. He must have tried to have Star Dream bring her back but the recreation was off and yet he couldn't bring himself to get rid of her so he made her his executive/secretary. His lack of acknowledgement is probably what drives Susie to "show up the old man" with her sociopath plans for taking over and selling the company. Haltmann's trying to gather resources in order to maximize Star Dream's power but probably lost himself to his greedy nature along the way and that would be part of Star Dream's impetus for judging organic life to be worthless.

Galacta Knight isn't experiencing time linearly, like Metaknight and Kirby.
In KSSU, the first time Metaknight fights him, when you beat him he is destroyed. As in vaporized and ripped to pieces.
However, in RtDL and PR he just flies away at the end.
So Galacta Knight in KSSU is having his final fight, while his fights in RtDL and PR are Galacta Knight's previous fights.

I think because the pause screen narrator is not omniscient and asks questions that we're free to surmise. Maybe she didn't die at all but we see that Star Dream is capable of absorbing minds so maybe she still lost something important to identifying her as Susanna from Haltmann's perspective. Maybe the original state of Star Dream was able to resuscitate her but she freaked out Haltmann and he sent her away while he tried to power up Star Dream to the point where it could fix her but she came back after growing up and demanded his attention.
It's just that Haltmann not even recognizing his own daughter but basing everything off of his secretary is kind of weird. And I doubt that a Kirby game would imply that he's merely attracted to his secretary and doesn't know she's his daughter, as dark as they can be. So I don't think that's why he has Susies on his money and his mecha.
And it clearly says "as a child", which means that Sue was not in her adult form when she actually "went missing" so there's no way Haltmann would be able to paste adult Susie on all his stuff believing he was merely placing images of his daughter on everything so it's clearly images of his secretary or he does know that Susie is Sue/Susanna.
Because, I mean, the alternative is that Sue ran away after the accident, whatever it was, for some reason. Haltmann tries to power up Star Dream with the intention of wishing her back, Sue comes back arbitrarily as Susie and climbs the ranks of Haltmann Works in order to be acknowledged by her father who does not even recognize her somehow but is still obsessed enough with her that he has her printed on his money. The mecha I could accept as merely being designed by Susie and that's why it has golden Susie option-units.
I'd much rather just have it be that they have an awkward father-daughter relationship due to Haltmann not acknowledging her as his "real" daughter.

This is basically my headcanon, when you die against a boss on the same run of the boss level the boss gets "tired" every death and becomes easier, and in TD for example, Sectonia's flower stays open in the background after the first death, so you never really die, you just go back to fight again.
What sets Kirby apart and lets him win all these fights is his fighting spirit, ie. the player. In mass attack Necrodeus almost actually killed Kirby, but his heart (the star when you tap the screen) remained and guided the Kirbies to reunite, that heart's always inside of him, and is literally the player.

I really do love the game, but I don't understand why they made it so hard to die. You have to walk into every enemy you see to do so. I mean, Kirby games have never been all that hard, but I feel like this one is the easiest one yet.At least until you reach the final boss

Kirby games leading up to Return to Dreamland had a 5 hit health meter, if I'm remembering correctly. RTDL and TD did have substantially larger health bars, but I feel 8 hits on your health bar is a bit much. Especially with no harder mode available where you still play as Kirby.

These games take after super star, the health bar is numbers instead of predetermined hits, so things can do more damage than others, so touching an enemy won't fuck a fifth of your health but a giant laser of doom sure as hell will
If you want big health bars you play Squeak Squad or Amazing mirror with all the upgrades

SS/SSU, RTDL, and TD handled damage differently. You won't die from walking into six Waddle Dees, but touching a shocked surface or a boss getting a solid hit in will do significant damage (possibly death in three hits) in addition to knocking you the fuck out. The latter is even more dangerous since it can lead to instant death depending on where you are.
I did not expect to enjoy Haltmann as much as I did, he's no Sectonia and was a precursor to the real boss (as I thought) but damn he was pretty nifty

On my way to 100% it, just finished 5-2 and I have a question. Will I need to replay level to get every sticker? Obviously you get the gold stickers once and you're done but by the the time I finish I don't think I will have every common since you could get duplicates of the commons.
I skiped and triple deluxe and enjoy and all the new ability, shame I can't try bell and beatle. I love docter, ESP, and poison, all are really fun.

Bandana isn't comparable to Luigi, and Luigi has been around longer than Goombas. Waddle Dees fill both the roles of toads and goombas, there isn't a Mario equivelant to Bandana. Perhaps Blue Toad.

It's literally just more Triple Deluxe. Yes the robot is a way better gimmick than the Hypernova but it still has all the same problems that Triple Deluxe had and by extension that most Kirby games have.
Also really not a fan of this "collect 3-4 collectibles in each level to progress." I just don't think it meshes with the Kirby playstyle as it's already slow enough as is and they're all designed so that even a 5-year old can figure out how to get them in less than a minute.
It's a good game but it's pretty unremarkable.
