Also there's a reason Pitchford is eager to expand beyond the video game space. Gearbox is no longer a reputable brand in the industry. That's why he's trying to branch out with Lionsgate on a feature film for Borderlands.
2K owns all of the distribution rights for Borderlands, and Borderlands is the only thing that Gearbox has left of any value. They cannot recruit any new publishers due to their reputation, and if 2K ever turned on them they would go under overnight.

This and DOOM are what I've been playing damn near daily for the past month, speckled with some other games. Had the past 3 days off and got some crews together and wrecked face most of the time.
It's great with friends, and a surprising amount of people use mics on PC. It suffers from a small playerbase, but the game just got an update allowing you to requeue with your teammates after a match, so that helps on wait times.
