But non charged arrows only do 28 damage. Even if you rapid fire them as fast as you can into his head, you're only gonna be doing like 100 damage a second. Widowmaker can do like 260 with her machine gun mode if she's hitting him in the head. Unless you're using the scatter arrow, Hanzo seems like he'd be fucked even harder by Winston than Widowmaker is.

On the voting screen, the "X% damage taken" means that's how much damage your team took that you mitigated with healing
Say you healed 10k and 20% of damage taken, what that means is that in total your team took 50k damage altogether

What gives people this mentality in this game
Hanzo is excellent for defense, which is what he's supposed to be, but only on maps where he's on defense.
Places like Temple and Numbani he's good because of the low sightlines and corners, taking advantage of all 3 of his abilities (which are for getting the drop on people)
However, he's worse than Widowmaker in the three areas that matter: Utility, Advantage and Power
-her ult is more useful
-she can shoot farther
-she has much stronger dps
Etc. widow is just a better Hanzo, which is why she needs nerfing immediately.

I regularly run down mercy players even when I'm on lucio. Even if they're behind a rhein shield, I'll shoot the shield to help break it. Any effort that goes towards killing the enemy team before the mercy is dead is wasted effort.
Unfortunately, there's no cure for shitty sniper syndrome. Most people playing widow and everyone playing hanzo is a terminal shitter. At least the tracers and genjis end up being super disruptive at high skill levels. Hanzo never gets past the "Random lucky headshot" stage.

This whole thread is hilarious. The real issue is people not playing Hanzo correctly. Hanzo is meant to be played aggressively, relying on downward spreads to drain tanks, recon bolts at corners to help the team, and close range headshots.
Yes, I main Hanzo, and often walk away with aroud 35+ elim's and 25+ killing blows (17 avg) with a 6 death per game average. I assist the team aggressively and run escorts like nobody's business, and that because that's how Hanzo shines.
The problem is, Blizzard decided to call him a "sniper", and shitter players try to use him that way. He should be labeled attacker.

You only get one shot, better make it count.
Plus, even if the other side has a torb, a headshot will still take people down in one. (275 health vs 295 damage after armor). Torb + Symmetra is the only thing that will protect 200hp characters against getting one shot by widow headshots.

this is extremely hard in a pub game. Genji won't reliably kill the Bastion because there's a turret shooting at him while he attempts to flank the entire team. Winston will get killed by Bastion/turret/symmetra turrets protecting the widow. Pharah will be killed by Bastion and turret while peeking. Maybe she'll destroy the turret for a few seconds though. Tracer won't get a bomb easily either.
A well organized team with coordination can pull it off, but a pub team no way. And the difference is that the defending team just has to set their shit up and then keep it, they don't need any team coordination whatsoever past the preparation phase.

Has anybody else been experience serious lag recently? Not like little normal ping/tickrate issues but I just ended a game on Gibraltar as Torb and my projectiles were making full contact with the enemy but dealing no damage, sometimes whiff damage on my RMB. And there's no indication that I'm lagging at all besides to full contact zero damage shots. This happens at least once a day every day for me now and usually after I have to be re-instanced or get dropped into a different server due to lack of players.

If you win 2 or 3 games in a row the game basically sets you up to lose the next game by loading your team with people who are like level 5 and 6 and loading the opposing team with people in their 30s or 40s.
Why not just have a league system similar to Starcraft? That way there is a real sense of progression instead of the game basically punishing you for winning too much (or conversely, rewarding you for losing).
The way it's set up now it's difficult to tell if you're actually improving or not since you're win rate will always be 50%, give or take.

they're dumb because genji is pretty good at getting the objective. jump around like a rabid monkey, use deflect for defense and potential kills. it's especially good on hanamura to break the defender's defense by forcing them to get rid of him on their point, giving your team an opportunity to get through.
a good genji doesn't just run around alone all the time I've discovered. Stay with your team, use your deflect to protect them, dash towards anyone who's in an 1v1 engagement to help them out. Go for a flank occasionally if you see an opportunity, he can do so piss easily on most maps. I've been having a lot of fun as Genji once I began playing him as more of a teamplayer than lonewolf.

Every now and then you get the one Genji who knows who to play him and actaully contributes to the team but 9 times out of 10 they do nothing except die for every kill that they get and are just farting around until they get ult which they still only manage to kill one person with. Hanzo plays better for getting picks and damaging tanks. He's not made deal the most damage, get the most kills, etc. He literally exists as a utility to help shutdown things because he can focus on one class or one type of class while everyone else focuses on the the classes fighting.
Widowmaker has literally 0 need for discretion because she fires faster, gets kills faster and lives longer because she has a faster escape and a detection mine.
If Widowmaker's pacing was as fast as Hanzo, people would react and play better in accordance to it.

There was a game where I led in eliminations on Temple of Anubis and we capped both points in under 30 seconds, and a game on Volskaya where I ended up killing 5 people defending the point with dragon blade and saving the entire game.

Except instagib twitch kills required actual aim whipe moving instead og standing still shooting at huge slow moving targets and wouldn't work against someone with good map control with a big stack to mitigate the damage. There was also a big disadvantage to missing a snipe or failing to kill with one in a game like Quake because sniping weapons like the railgun left you open. Meanwhile if widoemaker misses a shot, nobody can get to her to punish before the meter charges again (and if she got a bodyshot she can just spam uncharged shots) besides Winston and if they do, she can hookshot away. Not to mention those weapons still had limited ammo and required map control to keep supplied.
