It's actually old Sony tech from the PS2 days, Ratchet had this kind of water, Baldurs Gate had it, and then later God of War used it. R2's just adds refraction to the water

You would definitely be able to tell dependig onwhat scalers are being used for luma and chroma. Upscaling a low res source to high res in mpc with madvr or mpv with the appropriate filters set up wil definitely look better, sharper, less aliased. Also temporal interpolation (not svp) like madvrs smoothmotion and all the filters in mpv can really help with 3:2 pulldown and inherent 24 fps stutteryness.

the jumping barrel throw enemies and the big spider enemies require a disgusting amount of bullets to die. Some weapons are shit (pistol) or fun but the 2 weapon limitation makes them unviable (sniper, needle gun). I for example kept the minigun even though the game expected me to toss it and I could take out bullet sponge enemies in no time since the game didnt expect me to use that gun beyond the few places where they drop it for you. Human enemies meanwhile are pushovers with the valkyrie if you arent a terrible shot.
On top of that making you a silent protagonist was useless. Kathylin was an obvious boner trap. The time messages felt more like they were written to rile you up rather than actually making sense in the grand scheme of things (like one warning you not to trust kathylin while trying to save her, and one telling you not to trust the guy writing the notes on the wall. Why the fuck would he discredit himself?). You could repair the audio tapes but there was no reason for them to put that in. You could repair the blackboards but the info on it was useless. Stimpacks sucked dick. weapon upgrading felt like a forced RPG mechanic. Yes just give me the AR upgrades since that weapon is at least has decent ammo and works against everything. I also upgraded my sniper but that is useless later.
