Should I play Resident Evil 0 before the first one? remastered ones.
I only ever played 3 on PS1
>>340729825
yes.
>>340730054
cheers m8
>>340730083
its not completely necessary, but it basically shows how rebecca got to the mansion.
>>340729825
No 0 is one of the worst, start with the first one, remastered. Think was like the 5th game made. After the dreamcast code veronica ? not sure though
Neither. Play from release order, going from REmake to RE2 will be hard because the mechanics will take a step back.
Play RE1 original on PS1. Then RE2, RE3, (Code Veronica if you really care about the story, gameplay is fucken shit though), then play REmake (it's very different from RE1 so it's worth playing both) then end it with RE0. The Outbreak spin off titles are also worth playing.
>>340730180
Terrible advice, and shit taste.
>>340730180
story doesn't matter?
>>340730391
you basically gave the same advice. No need to play the original re1, the gamecube/hd remaster was much better.
>>340730391
eh I am kind of relying on remasters of 2 and 3 being released on PS4. I can't play the originals
>>340730391
kys
>>340730449
story wise in RE is only relevant from 0-code veronica, after that it just there are monsters you kill them. honestly I only play the new ones because I got attached to some of the characters.
>>340729825
This is easily one of the worst traditional Resident Evil games. They just recycled areas and ideas but did it way worse. I'm sure it was a "B" team that did this one.
>>340730449
Not at all. You play RE for the backstory, the lore, the atmosphere. But not the story. The main upfront story is forgettable shit, and all the games that have focuses heavily on the main story have been garbage, while the ones with the least main story and everything is just in notes and lore for you to find are the best ones.
>>340730483
The original RE1 is worth playing honestly. It's still good and is substantially different from REmake, plus it will allow you to appreciate REmake even better. And more importantly it allows you to move onto RE2 without a huge step backwards in mechanics from REmake.
>>340730391
with RE2 being remade and 1/0 selling well, its a pretty much guarantee they will remake 3 and release it all together in some epic pack called resident evil classics.
>>340730613
resident evil 2 is being remade dude, there is literally no reason to play the original re1.
>>340730602
I really disliked the worm monsters in 0, didn't find them scary/unnerving at all.
>>340730534
After you.
>>340730525
You might be waiting a while, and a remake of 3 is not even confirmed even though it would be fucking amazing.
Just emulate the Gamecube ports of 2, 3 and CV on Dolphin. 1 should be emulatable on PC as well.
>>340730391
Even if you play REmake before RE2, the latter will still be the better game.
>>340730624
Hopefully you are right, and hopefully that Outbreak HD that's being rumored is announced at E3 this year too.
>>340730673
I know, but nothings even been shown yet, you will be waiting a while, possibly over a year. There is literally no reason not to play the originals. Also we don't even know if REmake 2 will be a failthful REmake or not, or just gayshit like RE5 and RE6.
>>340730880
No it wont. REmake is fucking leagues above RE2 in quality. RE2 is the jack of all trades but master of none game of the series.
>>340730880
fucking lol
>>340731009
we will get more info and gameplay trailers in 2 days, after what they did with RE1 remaster I don't see them fucking up too badly if they did at all.
>>340730880
>Even if you play REmake before RE2, the latter will still be the better game.
I respectfully disagree. But RE2 was amazing and REmake2 could very easily surpass REmake, if Capcom play their cards right.
jill is perfect.
>>340730449
>>340730136
Even if you want to play along for it: RE0 really has no contributing impact on the story of RE1. And honestly, being a generous as possible makes no real linear sense with it.
The plot actually assumes Rebecca strays very very very far from Bravo team where as Alpha and the rest of Bravo just move line of sight to the Spencer Estate.
>>340730180
This. 0 is the worst classic-style RE, even when you consider how shit Outbreaks' loading times and netcodes were. It isn't an awful game or anything, but it might leave a bad taste in your mouth and turn you off from the rest.
>>340729825
>>340730083
I would say no, and go straight for the RE1 Remake.
Zero is probably the worst of the original games. RE1 Remastered and RE2 are god-tier.
>>340731101
>>340731232
>modern Crapcom
They're gonna fuck it up
Echoing another anon - play from the first original RE1 onwards.
The remake does a lot well but does a lot ver differently too and personally I don't like a lot of the changes the remake made - it's a lot cheesier and easier at parts and certain elements just break the atmosphere of the original.
Plus if you play from the start you will be able to fully appreciate the originals as standalone and will get a nice feeling of all the remake Nods and references to later things in the series.
Playing the refined gameplay remake will make it harder to go back to originals.
>>340729825
No.
Play REmake REmastered first. Capcom fucked up the REmake and it looks like a complete shitshow visually. You'll have a hard time going from 0's crisp and beautiful visuals to REmake's blurry, vaseline smeared backgrounds.
>>340730391
>Play RE1 original on PS1.Deadly Silence is the superior version.
>>340729825
the fact the it has no item chests is an indicator of how shit it is.
>>340731337
True. All they really need to do is make RE2 using REmaster's assets and maybe throw in a couple of different mechanics and surprises like Crimson Heads. Or even just reuse Crimson Heads and defense weapons if they're especially lazy, but whatever.
But they'll still fuck up somehow. God dammit.
>>340731457
You can leave items on the floor anywhere and they don't vanish, not much of a negative
>>340731457
Your opinion on that is like an indicator of how casual you are.
>>340731457
It was an decent idea compromised by shit execution. They should have kept it, but had maybe one designated item box in each major zone to reduce the faff and nonsense involved.
>>340731546
>Item boxes are casual
No. The only variation of that premise that actually adds challenge is Real Survivor mode in REmake. Floor item management simultaneously made the game much easier and more annoying, because you just had to make designated 'item box' spots on the floor and pick up and put down every fucking item individually. It was a god damn chore, and I will not forgive having to trapse back through half the in-game map for that fucking grappling hook.
