By the way, if you want a mobile TD similar to this, look at geoDefense. It is the best mobile TD I've ever played, no questions asked. They have a sequel too, and they are both 100% worth it.

This game will always be my favorite flash-era game, period. Not to mention it made me fall in love with level editors and shit. Even the DS version was good, which was rare; usually ports of flash games onto consoles are trash, but they actually put some effort into it. Easily my favorite platforming game for the DS.

The base game is good, but I think it's ruined by the upgrade grind.
A friend recommended it to me, but since he had played more, he kept winning. Not because he'd practiced more, but because he had more health, better guns, better mobility and better RNG. You'd need to play against people who have played as much as you to have even matches and there's no game mode where the leveling upgrades are disabled.

I've a bit of a vague memory of a game I used to love playing on flash sites way back, it was like Final Fantasy tactics, you have warriors, archers, mages and healers on a chessboard like grid. You couldn't choose the characters and the enemies were always the same. You basically just had to play it strategically to kill the enemies without all of your team being wiped out in the turn based combat. It's driving me crazy trying to remember the name, would have been popular maybe around 2005/2006?
