50% heals, 50% gun. I've solo'd Reinhardts, Genjis, McCrees, long range Widowmakers and everything else as Mercy, then immediately returned to healing the chucklefucks who just deigned to return to the payload.
Mercy is amazingly strong, but everyone mistakenly believes Lucio's weak-ass area heal (unless boosted) is worth shit. His speed boost is great though, that wins games.

I like playing Lucio, but his healing just isn't as good at healing through damage as Mercy's is, if he's got the whole team around him he'll be healing a lot, but when the enemy puts on a lot of pressure he just can't the damage. Of course he has strengths in other areas for sure, I like him on koth and attack payload, but I almost always pick Mercy over him if I'm playing with my friend.

Split heal and juggle priorities, if the Rein is just shielding and not taking hits then it may be preferable to top off the widowmaker up behind you just in case. It's all on a case to case basis, but in general, it's better to quickly top off a DPS (50/s heal) since they're much squishier at half health than the Reinhardt.

My problem with Zenyatta is that he's a powerful character, but he can be shutdown easily, he's one of the lowest hp classes and has no mobility, so unless you have a good team who can protect him he can be killed by a lot of classes, damage boosted pharah and mercy can both one shot him.

Of course, he can be easily killed. But if you know how to hang back from the thick, always stay by a tank or two teammates, and then keep juggling between heals, discords, and assisting the discords, hell I've had games where I did most healing, had most fire, and most kills as Zenyatta. Plus when you can get off his ultimate, it's an auto heal (and immunity) to yourself and anyone around you for almost 5 seconds. It's much more situationally beneficial than Mercy's revives.

Sorry you've only had bad teams and don't play with at least 3 other people who you can communicate with. But not even considering that, I've had problems plenty of times where myself and 3-4 other teammates were near objective completion and the moment I busted out my ultimate they got inside, handled shit right, and typically winning the game. Of course I've had bad games with shit teammates but bad teammates=\=Zenyatta being shit nor his ultimate.

People just don't get it, Zen is far too squishy to be useful unless you're playing total imbeciles and it's a free win anyway and Lucio just can't carry the load on the defensive side. Mercy allows you to have more healing and an ultimate that is literally always available, you can use it to revive a single person to keep up your presence or use it for post/mid fight comebacks. Defensively you need to win 8-10 fights throughout the game and Lucio is only going to have his ult up for 2-3 at best, just can't keep up.

I personally think all Omnics should have armor instead of health, from a fluff standpoint. Bastion with 250 armor would be more susceptible to powerful pokes while in turret mode, and still able to hold his own in mobile mode against most heroes.

Really though I think a mercy/Zen combo is unstoppable since Zen being buffed can pretty much handle a lot on his own. Two supports that can interchange helping each other and the team is top tier strategy. Not even a sacrifice. Zen just isn't good right now, he can't solo heal and if your team has a Mercy you'd be far better off having a normal DPS instead of him. It's basically impossible to win a high MMR game with a Zen on your team unless you get matched up against total dumbasses who don't know how to play. A good Widow deletes him from the game while Genji/Tracer make it so that he's never going to leave the spawn. At the very least Lucio ends up making more sense than a Zen as their ultimates accomplish pretty much the same thing while Lucio can speedboost support ultimates and is far harder to kill.
I groan every time a teammate picks Zen, even my friend who has been a Zen god since the early closed beta doesn't pick him at all right now.

His healing output is less than a third of what Mercy would put out in the same situations, he just can't keep up. Mercy not only heals more but provides constant counterplay with her ultimate. Outside of koth I'd always want a Mercy as my solo support and I'd always want another DPS instead of a Zen. If it's defense then on some maps you can do Mercy+Sym for the first point, on offense yeah sometimes Mercy+Lucio works.

I think we would have not won this with me as Lucio because I wouldn't have been able to keep them alive with amp it ups during these fights, the enemy team had a lot firepower, and "wasting" it on one guy with low health would've put the rest of the team in danger. What if the barrier breaks when amp up is not ready yet? I'm not sure about his ult tho. A sound barrier could maybe have kept my mates alive during the Bastion ult, but it only lasts 6 sec at most, quickly degrading as well.
Lucio is a great group healer, but without his amp up or ult he can't do much if the pressure is high. Mercy can't heal a group that well, but she can bring everyone but tanks back to full health fast and consistent, it's always 50hp/sec no matter what. Not to mention she can be faster than Lucio at chasing after mates. LShifting around is fun stuff if your team is working with you, I denied enemies many, many kills by zipping in and heal the critical guy back up. One time I had a Genji on my tail the entire round, he kept using his ult everytime he found me, because I saved my mates from him a few times.

Mercy heals for 50 hp a sec, Zens orb only does 30(or did they buff it to 35?). Mercy also has the single fastest ult charge in the game so she can spam it to revive solo teammates all game long of desired, when paired with something like a roadhog you can revive someone and within 4 seconds have your ult back up to 75%.
Mercy is still fragile but she has the mobility factor that Zen does not, it's ok for her to get closer to the fight and she can move back and forth between players at will.

I played a game where I supported a pretty good Widomaker player, we wrecked face; eventually a tracer and widowmaker showed up to take us down. My widowmaker assisted, and we wrecked the two. Mercy's pistol is strong as fuck.
Then I went back to buffing her, and we cleaned up shop. Also since my widowmaker was getting shot and attacked from the ground often, a constant heal to her meant I'd be able to charge my ult very fast; and when defending a capture objective, helped immensely when needing to resurrect my team.

If you're lucky, a Symmetra or Torbjorn can help you out, but you really only see those on defense, and Zenny is under pressure on offense as is. He's still usable in any case, though a 50% increase in health definitely helps him out. I think converting his normal health to armor and bumping it up to 175 would help a little bit, and also make canonical sense since he's a fucking robot presumably made of metal.
