This was literally my most anticipated movie of the year until that article came out. They're reshooting like a third of the movie because "it felt too much like a war movie."
The initial appeal of the story was that it was going to be darker and not have a lightsaber involved. Jesus, fuck Disney executives.

See, this is what Jedi Academy did wrong. In Dark Forces II and Outcast you had to earn your saber, you started out with a blaster just like everyone else.
But academy just hands it to you right off the bat, what's the point? Why would you use anything but the saber? I almost never fucking used the weapons in that game because of it.

outcast is the most overrated star wars game right next to republic commando
Outcast has a few good moments but as a whole its pretty clunky with alot of stupid shit in it
the core combat mechanics are decent (and fun) but ultimately it feels like buttonmashing (except you just hold the button down)
the most thought into it is what sort of directional slash to use, there are no blocks or parries etc
the levels are hit and miss and the developers had no clue about how to use the level design and the levels visual elements to point players into the correct direction, hence why there are so many complaints about it feeling obtuse and retardedly hard to progress sometimes because you cant find the little thing you need to do before you can move on
