What went wrong?

It ended.

Nothing. It's perfect.

Nothing it was overall great. It could have used some better faction quests and more RPG elements, but overall it was pretty good.

Nothing, its on par with the rest of the series

Real life is a game compared to Skyrim

Compared to Morrowind and Oblivion it's a masterpiece.

Nothing.

Faggots here didn't like it because it didn't to pander to their specific needs and neo-fags just try to fit in by hating it.

The only real problem I had with the game was how shit the dungeons were like try all seemed so similar and the enemies were always just draguar or some stupid shit. I wish some of them were more open rather than just linear corridors. Also more variety in quests and more unique quests because none really stood out to me.
>>
>>340644925
The better question is - how much are you willing to pay for the next TES game and DLCs anon?

I don't hate it but it's still my least favorite of the past 3 games

>Boring main quest
>very few interesting characters
>unfinished civil war
>The game world doesn't change, people still talk about Ulfric as if he is alive even if you kill him
>Combat still clunky
>No more spell making, little options for wizards
>Attributes removed
>>
>>340643991
I love Skyrim.
it's the best 3D eroge all time.

You want to play a good 'mid evil' vidya
play draken 2
>>
>>340643991
Magical dungeon exit doors, no colors, shitty inventory, cinematic finishers, level scaling, skill tree, voice acting.

Other than that, it's still breddy gud Elder Scrolls.
>>
>>340643991
>Draugrs are prettymuch the only enemy
>Dragons were more of an annoyence
>the shout sysem was pretty shit with only a sledom few being actually useful, most of wich were only usefull to pregres the story i.e the weather shout to actuall get to see paarthurnax
>perpetual greyness in the landscape
>no spell creation
>no arena
>no quests that stand out
>main quest was boring as fuck
>no sense of impending doom from the main quest (as you are the dragon born so you are going do defeat the boss and win)
>easily forgettable characters throughout the world
>Muh racism and muh imperial privilege sub story was a piece of shit
>Shit menu UI that was built for consoles
just to name a few

Although Skyrim made some improvements and was a great game, I think Oblivion had the right amount of everything and felt like a proper RPG instead of the boring chosen one trope that so many games tend to do
>>
>>340643991
Nothing.
Another masterful game crafted by Todd.
How could someone hate this guy?
>>
>>340643991
I just started replaying this fucker on my new PC with something like 120 mods. It's fantastic if you just tweak a few things like
Shitty NPCs
Shitty NPC populations
Shitty texture stretching
Shitty lighting
Shitty ragdolls
Shitty variety of weapons
Shitty variety of armor
Shitty complexity in skill trees
Shitty immersion breakers like rain through outdoor ceilings
Shitty repeated dialogue
Shitty follower limits
Shitty lack of follower control
Shitty lack of cloaks
Shitty forests you can see straight through
Shitty maximum of 3 voice actors per race per gender
Shitty scripting, for in-town NPCs GO TO SHOP -> GO TO BED worse than previous games
Shitty NPCs that all an hero as soon as a dragon flies over the town or vampires attack (I keep hitting the NPCs but they fucking suck)

Seriously I had no idea how shitty/lazy this game was until I found it 1000% better with mods people weren't even paid to make.
>>
>Combat was awfully shallow, all you had to do was spam left click and drink a potion when your health was low.
>Perks were boring, 70% them was just reduce magicka cost or do more damage
>Spells were just more powerful versions of each other, some schools were just pointless to use.
>Quest design was horrible, go to a dungeon, grab item from the loot chest for the most part. The main questlines were about side quest quality. Worst offender was the civil war.
>Crafting was stupidly OP and a boring grind, finding loot on quests and in dungeons lost its point because of it. (other than disenchanting)
>Writing was terrible, main plot wasn't interesting enough to keep me involved, not a single character with deep personality, literally everyone could be summed up in one sentence.
(maybe Ulfric is an expection but that doesn't show in the game, you only read about it in books)
>Fights with dragons were more of a hassle than a challenge.
>Faction system was retarded, you were promoted from new guy who's hated by everyone to beloved leader just because you completed their questline. You could become the archmage without having any of your magic skills above 25.

>>

>>340646403
Ah yes I forgot shitty combat, shitty UI and shitty enemy variation
>>
It has a very anti-climatic way of ending pretty much every single quest. It gets boring after a while and starts feeling like more of a grinding/farming game than a damn RPG. But overall I liked the game. I like the world and the little things you can find just running around. The most fun I had in this game was just through meaningless exploration
>>
>>340646945
Yes, it is an important factor when playing a game like Skyrim. Technology has come a long way since atari. Crazy, I know.
>>
>>340646945
I don't have to feel like I'm in the game anon (I mean, it's a first person RPG so there's an argument there, but lets leave it alone). I just don't want to be playing a game and stopping every 10 minutes to wonder why the fuck they overlooked or underdeveloped something.

For the record I woulda felt the same way if when I was playing the original carrier command I could fly the triangle planes through the carrier without them impacting.

That civil war was so pointless and had no real affect on anything besides future lore. Even the dragons never really posed that much of a threat to the cities. Very rarely I ran into a dragon attack on any of the main cities and even then it was only the ones that didn't have a gate. It's like they had two ideas for the game's main plot but couldn't decide which one to go for so they half assed both. At least Oblivion had quests with some of the cities dealing with the gates that opened up outside of them.

Here's a simple way to connect the main stories together: You wanna get the support of the Jarls to whatever faction you pick through supplies or soldiers, they refuse saying they need it to keep the defenses well armed and fed in case of another attack from the dragon terrorizing their lands. You agree to kill the dragon in return for loyalty to the faction. If that's too simple throw in the objectives for becoming a Thane as part of the agreement to show your faction cares for their people.

Every character can do everything is fine, the problem is that the game isn't balanced around it. Basically if you choose everything, you should have a hard time until you are a fairly high level. Instead, the game just gimps itself to whatever your stats are. Kind of defeats the purpose of choosing specialized, which makes me scared for TESVI with how Fallout 4 was handled.

The number one problem with V though, for me, was definitely the quests. They are very poor compared to Oblivion and Morrowind. Guilds go way too fucking fast and a lot of the time, and that basically makes them uninteresting to boot. The arena being cut says to me that they got rushed or got lazy in this regard. Probably a combination of both once you factor in how ambitious the civil war was supposed to be.

I still play the shit out of it though. Way more stable than Oblivion and Morrowind were, muh walking simulator, and native xInput. All I really want from it is a polished SkyXP now. I'm sorry /v/
>>
>>340648021
No it wasn't.

The year was 2006 different times you should go back and compare the marketing Oblivion/Skyrim
>>
>>340643991
- Bethesda got too enamored with the radiant quest system and used it as a crutch to avoid making quests with any kind of interesting story or anything to do besides go to a draugr dungeon
- The writing was atrocious, with nothing to get you emotionally invested, so saving the world feels hollow and pointless; also, there are no NPCs you can actually care about with the possible exception of Serana
- Destruction magic was too weak, and magic in general wasn't very interesting, despite all the possibilities the new casting system offered
- Shouts are largely useless; too weak, and they all cause a long global cooldown
- Dragon fights got boring fast and lacked any interesting gameplay
- Alduin was just an oversized regular dragon that didn't do anything different
- Dragons have two legs instead of four
>>
>>340644291
You can marry someone when the only interaction between you and them is a fetch quest, but don't even think about marrying the only character the writing allows you to develop any kind of relationship with.
