Yeah, you can mod that yourself with TweakMB or Morgph's tools. It was Morph or Morgh or Morgph or something like that. They let you change the amount of people Leadership and reknown let you take on, for instance. Then since each Lord has predefined stats you could adjust their stats to whatever you like. This is also very useful for making Prisoner management let you take on more than 5 prisoners. Way too small of a number in native.

While stacking is effective, good tactics and mixed arms works just fine. But it usually makes battles take way longer because you have to organize ranks, position archers and flank well making even simple 40-80 man battles take much more time than simply bum rushing a shield wall / cavalry brigade.
I do realize now i'm playing the Viking Conquest doing all this, but still i recall it being somewhat similar, if not less complex in the original Warband.

The main problem is that the player's the only one that knows how to systematically pursue high-end units, and high-end units in general are just ridiculously good. The AI will usually just mass recruits and derp around while letting the trickle of EXP from Trainer and wars slowly push them to not-shit-units.

I'd often build a decent army maybe 60-80 troops then I would just go around leveling up and looting from small villages and making tons of money, but I never could figure out what to do after that...
How is the game meant to be played can someone explain? I have 45 hours in the game and that's just looting and killing forest bandits and helping other lords defeat their enemies by joining their armies. It would be up to the player to make that choice whether the lost honour was worth getting a thorn out of their side. He's dropped to "muh"s, but I agree with him still. Being able to kill lords would be a good thing. It'd be very satisfying to fight your way into Ragnar's castle and lop off his head.

maybe they're first generation descendants, considering they still have the ships and everything. Anyway M&B isn't meant to be 1:1 to IRL.
The decision to not give them cavalry was obviously from a balancing and diversity viewpoint, since nearly every other faction has cav (khergit, swadia, sarranid, vaegirs) bar the Rhodoks. Not having cavalry meant the developers could go all-out on making the Nords into very tough infantry and decent archers.
If you've got such a hard-on for norman cavalry, play Swadians.

Exactly. Nords have good infantry, passable ranged capabilities, and no cav. If they had all three, they'd be an OP faction, and the factions would basically be the same. Lack of cavalry makes them unique.
I'm pretty sure it's general consensus that Swadians are the Franks, and Frankish cavalry is the closest thing to Norman cavalry because of the intermingling that went on between Franks and Normans. But like I said, Warband isn't 1:1 to real life. It's low fantasy.
