They said this like 3 months ago already back when they announced 5's forge and customs would be coming to PC for free but the rest wouldn't in any form.
Which makes sense, since the forge and MP are the parts of 5 which are actually good.
Why would they waste money porting the bad SP over when the good parts would be available for free anyways?

I don't know what it was about Halo 5 but about halfway into the campaign I couldn't stand it. I just couldn't wait for the game to be over. That didn't even happen to me with Halo 4 even with its endless silver+orange hallways. That could just be because I was able to play couch co-op in Halo 4 but had to play 5 by myself.
