I remember playing the alpha builds in high school. Those were some fun times. I don't play it anymore because the community went from a dev and some folks who were anxious to see this simple and fun project grow together, to a corporation catering to shit-eating, spergy children. The only reason I don't mind it staying around is because it seems like a good containment game, keeping a large amount of autistic children from shitting so hard on other game communities.

I play on PC. I know people who play on console and they don't hate it, I just think PC gives you greater control especially if you're playing creative. Used to play pocket edition but my phone got fried.

my point is that mojang relies the modding community to add meaningful content to the game.
i suppose in one sense that's good, i'd prefer a laissez faire modding policy compared to a draconian absolute zero-tolerance policy (e.g. battlefield 3), but it's lazy as fuck. i remember there wasn't even official mod support unti 1.6 or 1.7 or something.
since MS owns minecraft, you wont just have minecraft 2 to look forward to in the future, you can count on that.
