What are the chances of Valve being at E3 this year? Geoff Keighley mentioned a special guest appearing on Monday that he's excited about and there's supposed to be some kind of special announcement.
Any theories?

i have. i just want to believe.

Kojima. They're BFF's and he wants everyone to know that.
>>340611831
it's not happening
I want it to happen, but it's not. Valve doesn't care about VR that much.
>>340611831
30% chance.
At least they didn't straight out admit that they're not going to E3 this year, like last year.
Why would valve need to even release a new half life game? They're milking CS:GO and TF2 still so why do they need to even think about making a game in which the hype has completely died down for?
>>340613334
because money?
>>340613334
Because Valve doesn't have a central management like other companies, everyone in the studio does whatever the fuck they want and they definitely don't wanna make HL3 because of the hype.
Go read the employee handbook

>they definitely don't wanna make HL3 because of the hype
What?
Why would they refuse to have their name set in stone in the most iconic FPS franchise ever?
You're retarded.
>E3 2016
>"It is my pleasure to welcome, from Valve Studios... GABE NEWELL!"
>Gabe comes out to a lukewarm reaction
>"Hello, everyone, it's been a few years since I've been on one of these, but I promise there's a good reason for me to be here today"
>The crowd whispers before silence settles back in
>"Our industry has been going through a large and fast expansion for the last six years, and we've been doing our best to work alongside the changes that have been coming from it. Unfortunately, this has slowed us down quite a bit, and we've never been known to be... punctual"
>Forced laughter by the crowd
>"But today, I'm happy to announce a new game we've been working on for almost a decade now"
>Crowd can now be heard talking in hushed tones of excitement
>Lights go out
>Crowd goes euphoric and starts crying of happiness as the feed switches to the video
>Black screen as the crowd calms down>"It's been a while... Hasn't it.... DOCTOR FREEMAN?"
>The biggest reaction in all of E3 history is heard as a great looking G-Man smiles
>"Yet it's almost as if it all happened mere moments ago. Your survival at Black Mesa"
>Shots of a decrepit blown out Black Mesa with Combine soldiers searching it
>"Your resistance at City 17"
>Shots of a nasty looking human military force curbstomping helpless combine in a highly unstable blue and orange area
>"Your counter-attack at White Forest"
>Shots of a military base in a forest with said military force guarding it
>"But your journey is not over"
>A brief shot of a gigantic ship
>"And this time... You're gonna need all the help you can get"
>Gameplay footage of a multiplayer class based shooter where a group of humans fights a group of combine inside a ship
"FREEMAN IS ALMOST THERE, CAPTURE POINT A!" Alyx is heard screaming
>"See you soon..."

Why would they wanna risk having their name set in stone on a game impossible to live up to the hype?
Gee I don't know why would that be
Gaben said it himself that noone wants to actually do it in the company go ask it to them.
