Considering the other 2 were on PC and the new fanbase either didn't have a good PC to play either of them, or just never heard of them, but jumped on the bandwagon with the PS4 release of part 3, then yes I think there should be a prequel to fill us in on how Gerald got to where he is in part 3.
Tomb Raider did a reboot origin story so why not this game.

I am currently playing Witcher 2 and I am overwhelmed by all the names and lore so I'd thought why not give them a try.
How is the translation? Perhaps there are even some German fellas here who read it? Not sure if I should buy German or English, Polnish is not an option, sadly.

Serious question: Why does Witcher look like he aged 40 years over the three years in which the games took place? In the first game he looks like he's 20-30 something then suddenly he is an old man 50-60 two years later. And that's without mentioning he ages slowly and lives for centuries?

Second game Geralt is a good compromise. Also, Eskel is the same age as Geralt and he still looks fairly young in W3. This all makes no fucking sense. There must have been a huge mess of different ideas and agendas in the team that made these games.

And I mean I get that after you make one game and things change. A lot of things changed from 1 to 2 that showed a shift in direction. But to then again change him for W3 is just stupid and bordering incompetent, particularly since W3 is essentially W2 in an open world.

I've read all the books in the series (except for the prequel that doesn't have Geralt or Ciri in it), and my impression is that he's supposed to be a good looking guy.
His prematurely white hair and yellow witcher eyes clearly mark him out as a freak to people though, and lots of people fear witchers as emotionless killing machines, so I mean...that in itself would likely make him ugly to a lot of people.
Also he's got all those scars, though the facial ones happen after the books.
There are lots of women that want to fug him just for the novelty of fugging a mutant (who's a pretty kewl guy) but lots of characters in the book say things that imply if he didn't have his mutations he'd be considered good looking.
Milva, who's generally quite reserved sexually, is clearly turned on after seeing Geralt shirtless. Then there's Renfry and lots of the sorceresses, and other normal human women to.
There's a scene in one of the books where Dijkstra and Geralt are the only two non-mages at a party and one of Dijkstra's first remarks was about Geralt's mad gains.

It's been a while since I played the second game but they explain everything in it. IIRC Geralt made a deal with the King of the Hunt after following them and finally catching up with them; Geralt's life for Yen's. Soon after that Geralt lost his memory and woke up near Kaer Morhen. Then his Witcher friends came looking for him but the didn't recognize them because he had amnesia. I would run too if I saw strangers with swords on their back approaching me.

This could make for a pretty interesting witcher experience. But start off weak just after the trials. Work your way up to seducing sorceresses etc.
The city would be all urban, like novigrad. The larger towns would function like oxenfurt etc. Hovels would be single quest, larger villages 2-3 quests involving them, most likely the main quest. Witcher 3's open world just went kinda shitty when it was blinding rolling around mowing down bandits. Some more structure to the experience would be nice instead of feeling like a checklist chore to do.
