One of the problems I have with Stefan Molyneux and a lot of amateur historians in general is that they tend to view the past through a modern moral lens. He thought that factory workers were most likely to rise up in revolt against their conditions, but in truth it was the farmer and the skilled laborer most likely to hold revolutionary ideologies. I tend to think he's given more credit in the historical record than he deserves.

in the case of watch dogs, we know that hacking things with the touch of a smart phone is silly, but we accept it because that's the cost of being able to immerse yourself in the gameplay. however, the audience knows that the black MC is forced for explicitly political reasons despite blacks not really matching up with what people know about san francisco and definitely not matching up with what people know about programmers.
one is the cost of entry into the world, the other is something that goes against human knowledge and intuition.
