They basically made a Kingdom Hearts Zero game called Birth By Sleep with another set of 3 main characters, the blue hair girl is one of those characters and is an analogue for Kairi pretty much. Just watch 358/2 days online and then play birth by sleep either by emulation or on the 2.5 collection.

Yes. I went the whole way through the game without using it, had some trouble with one of the final bosses, and then after I tried it out, the bosses became stupid easy. I didnt even use the -ra or -ga version, even just the base balloon spell completely trivialized the game.

While Sora just jumped into the action Roxas was found by Xemnas and under their supervision he was trained to use it for them. When he left he was pretty much on the same level as any of the other members and had access to two keyblades after awakening ven's heart, something they knew nothing of.

In all honesty, I'm surprised Birth by Sleep kept a E10 rating. That shit was dark as fuck. But KH has gotten really dark over the years. 2.8 is looking like the darkest in the series. 0.2 will feature Aqua losing what sanity she has left.
Back Cover shows that the Foretellers know themselves and all Keyblade wielders from Day Break Town are all going to die in the Keyblade War and it causes the Foretellers to even fight each other. Some want to go against what is destined to be in order to prevent every one dying. The others accept that everyone will die and want everything to go as planned.

Sora is technically more than half of Sora's power. He's half of Sora and Ven combined.
You are right though, Roxas is likely better than Sora. Sora is only as good as he is thanks to Roxas/Ven, and Sora only ever manages to beat him in the Dive to Heart which Sora has full control over, it was honestly a futile attempt by Roxas, but a valiant one at least.

I don't really get people's problems with Sora. He's happy-go-lucky, but I don't see that as a bad thing. He's pretty childish at points, but it's actually pretty endearing. I will admit DDD made him take a step backwards, but I thought he was great in 2. Haven't played CoM in a long time though.

Riku doesn't fully use darkness though. He literally says he is always at the middle ground between light and dark. He doesn't go balls deep in it because he knows it's dangerous. The only one who used full darkness is Xehanort, and he is a special case because of his keyblade. There is no overcoming darkness, since it will eventually fuck you over in the end.

Well, Terra never really tried to keep a balance, he just went full darkness and tried to control it, not even it with light. I mean he still had a strong light within him, like Xehanort said, but he never really did anything with it, at least until the fight with Terranort and Aqua when you see him cast salvation or faith or whatever light spell he was doing to the guardian. but I would guess he only relied light at that point because he was out of options
