TTG exists in a different universe, and does a lot of self parody stuff.
New series PPG was going to have McCraken signed on to work on it, couldn't get out of his Wonder Over Yander contract and CN just continued without him. Also TTG is pretty consistant with their animation quality, PPG has interns working on it with many, many errors each episode.
