AST are a lot better now. They bring the same healing strength as a WHM but with a lot of added buffs and utility, plus being able to meld with any other healer with their 2 sects.
The worst healers in the game now are WHM. Same healing as the other two, no shields, no special buffs or utilities. I can't tell you how many times I've wiped to Nidhogg cause of having 2 WHM healers. You really feel it when you don't have at least 1 of the other 2 healers.

The card buffs are more like placebos and really pointless in the way giving resources. I'd say the only cards that are actually useful within the rng are spear (on yourself) and ewer (also on yourself).
Having to deal with the drawing cards all the time just so you dont feel like a gimped healer actually distracts you a lot from doing actual healing or useful shit. Selene is also a better dps buff thhan them thanks to being consistent.

No. No it wasn't. It was only meant to stop you from interfering. If she wanted to kill you,she would have.
That said, WoL is still only a good fighter, all the scions are roughly your equal, and you lose the big fights more often than win them with only your strength. You usually require some deus ex level intervention, like Hydaelyn for Ultima, or the eye for Niddhog, or just Midgardsormr deciding not to execute you at the last moment.
In fact, Raubaun implied that he would wreck you if he had two arms.

You still had the power of echo, like I said, you're more capable than the average joe, but it still takes a full group of warriors of light in order to take down most threats, and it's canon that you don't solo it.
It's really hard to say, because unless you really go out and look for it, you don't see many examples of other people fighting monsters and such unless they suck, or they're positioned as potential adversaries such as the WoD.
But things that we know for sure are that normal soldiers take out primals, they just have a handicap of not having echo, so a lot of them get turned.

No. You took on Thordon with a group of 7 others who were equal.
And from my understanding from 1.0 till know, the echo was always a form of Hydaelin's power, which is why you can't become a thrall of another primal. There is also the fact that that's how Minfillia interacts with Hydaelin and everyone.
