I love vanilla wares art style even though dragons crown was a bit of a dissapointment.
Never played Odin Sphere and my only Vanillaware experience so far was Dragon's Crown which I thought was great.

Adding a few new elements and upgrading it to HD does not make it any more a "remake" than the "Plus" versions of Atelier games or EDF 4.1. The 3DS remake of FFIII was a legitimate remake. This is an enhanced port, no matter what they choose to call it.

Those two games are completely different, so if you're interested in this game then you should probably get it. It's a really good game in gameplay, visuals, sound, story; the downside is that it gets really repetitive towards the end as you have to replay a lot of the same areas, albeit with different characters who have different playstyles.

I barely fought Odin so I can't give you much advice on his attacks, I basically froze him, used an overpower + whirlwind + killer cloud + blaze to eat his health bar. By the end though I was almost dead since he's an aggressive and mobile motherfucker.

Mine was still in the shrinkwrap, but they gave me the run around about the artbook. The person at the register (turns out it was the store manager no less) claimed the artbooks were PS4-only. I tried to press her on that, but to no avail and I left without it.
Went back this morning with a printout of the page from GS's website showing the artbook for Vita as well, and the employee I dealt with this time (a different person) eventually decided that since they had filled all of their preorders and still had one artbook left (gee, I wonder why...), I could have it.

I've been playing Liefthrasir on hard, and Odin Sphere in general for the first time, just beat Gwendolyn's story gotta say, she controls really well and has a good playstyle, but the voice acting is spotty throughout the game.
Then I started the Pooka book, and Cornelius has the worst fucking moves, fuck that spiral shit, I had to revisit the earlier chapters because I couldn't S rank on first go, and it's recycled bosses, oh god. Am I going to fight the same bosses 3 more times after this?

Onyx's dub VA is apparently, supposed to be Nolan North. But considering Onyx's english VA is uncredited, it's hard to determine who it is exactly. Not to mention, when I saw North at a con one time, I asked him if he actually did his voice and he was like "nah man don't think it was me" and I responded with "well it sounds like you" and he responded back with "well it's not hard us VAs try to sound like each other sometime". Only thing that even resembles muramasa is the ability to dash three times in the air. That does not make it muramasa styled. It is still slower and the enemy bosses pretty much act like they do in the original and not have had their fights changed to suit it. The game is structured in 8(ish?) areas which each of the 5 playable characters traverse in different orders (with different plot).
