So, When does this game get bad? I just defeated Galdon.

Once you realize it's incredibly linear, and a fake Zelda game.

Fake because there's literally no collectibles, so literally no reason to explore anything.

Also you may realize the combat is mash A a 100 times per enemy..
>>
>>340483159
I liked games like Darksiders, so linearity isn't that big of an issue.

I just run past most of the enemies, with the exception of the guys that block your path and spit fireballs desu
>>
The very next area you're going to.
I hope you really like fuel barrel puzzles and the combat because you're going to be doing both a lot.
>>
>>340483407
You didn't understand.

Darksiders has optional upgrades. You can explore the game at your leisure to collect things.

Tihs game has NOTHING. You may complete some dumb puzzle and then get fucking fuel cells which you can buy infinite of in the shop. It's pointless.

So it's a really bad Zelda clone.

Also just running past enemies because the combat is so boring isn't exactly great.
>>
>>340483710
What about new items or tricky abilities?
In combat the Y button is still blocked off, i assume that's an upgrade in the future
>>
>>340483710
Zelda games are bad Zelda clones.

You may complete some dumb puzzle and then get a fucking heart piece which you can just slash grass or break pots for infinite hearts. It's pointless.
>>
>>340482937
I never played this. I think I'm going to emulate it now
>>
>>340483921
Not him, but you get abilities handed to you as you progress through the story. The only other "upgrades" are 4 extensions to your magic bar or whatever. I think you'd need at least 1 to use the latter powers that consume more.
Everything else is in the store.
>In combat the Y button is still blocked off
The Y button is just to use whatever staff ability you assigned to it during battle. If you don't have one assigned, you obviously don't do anything.
>>
>>340483921
The game will give you that stuff when it wants to. And you'll only use them when the designers need you to. Nothing's optional.
>>
>>340484123
Heart pieces are permanent upgrades to your max health, dumbo. Not to mention in a good zelda game like ALttP you can get a ton of hidden weapons, items, and sword upgrades.

Krystal should have been a playable character

>all but 2 are mandatory to beat the game
Yeah, LTTP was also the last good Zelda game

She was for about thirty minutes.

I remember being so fucking stoked for this game, reading all about it, looking at screenshots constantly. My levels of hype were through the roof. Then I played a demo at Walmart before it came out and knew right away it was shit.
>>
>>340484123
I mean at this point yeah. Zelda games now are pretty much just going down a checklist of "zelda things". Water temple, check. Grapple hook, check. Breakable pots, check. At least MM had the unique 3 day system, made it feel like an actual place instead of a world all arranged and waiting for you to come and do your tasks.

My favorite zelda game is Okami.
>>
>>340485157
Issun nearly ruined Okami for me.
>>
>>340485291
Yeah OOT made "annoying companion that never shuts up" practically a staple of the genre, for some reason. I dunno why they'd latch on to that.
>>
>>340485007
I bought this game at release. I was just getting on my first job back then. I've always loved Rare and Nintendo games, and I thought they'd just never disappoint me.

Next day I was back at the store begging for a refund

I got it with my Gamecube for Christmas when I was 10

I enjoyed it for the most part except for the absurd difficulty spikes for gimmicky minigames like the Lightfoot Test of Strength and the Krazoa Test of Fear

I had to get a controller with the turbo function to get past the former, it was unfulfilling to beat
>>
>>340486008
The demo was basically on a speed racer going through the woods, was that ever in the game?
>>
>>340486008
I had to get one of my parents to do the test of strength for me

For the fear test I taped black construction paper around my tv except the meter so I wouldn't get distracted

It was hard as a kid

It kinda fell apart for me at the second dungeon. The dungeon itself sucks, but that's also around the time when all the little ways the game wastes your time really started annoying me.
Like how half of the collectables run away from you/spawn awkwardly from plants for no reason other than to mildly annoy you. Inconsequential but still necessary busywork like feeding Tricky. Or the HUD being so poorly made it permanently displays a count of a context-sensitive item that you use in exactly one area and then never again.
Then you have bigger problems like there being almost no side content and a lot of the later half being spent running through areas you've already been through and redoing temples you've already done. How there's no real puzzles, it's mostly just barrel escorting and looking around for fireball switches. Not to mention the game being so easy it makes Twilight Princess look like Ninja Gaiden Black. It went through development hell and it shows.

The moment Fox gets off the Arwing.
>>
>>340482937
Its alright.

I bought this game in 9th grade when it first came out. I liked the idea of a zelda star fox back then. Played it, I can recall wishing it was krystal and not fox, and when I got to the end for the final boss fight..... I almost didnt want to beat it.

I felt like I wasted my time and money just to find out that the final boss was that piece of shit... and in that moment i realized how lazy and conservative nintendo is.
>>
>>340486008
I ditched the game on the Test of Fear, Fuck that

I mean, I only rented it, so I ran out of time, but what an embarrassment.

Why is Krystal so perfect ?
>>

Was it this game or Dinosaur Planet?
