okay /v/, I've played through RE 1 Chris scenario and RE 2 Leon scenario A. Do I play through the rest of the RE 2 scenarios, RE3 or just skip to 4?
>>
Might as well finish 2 since you just have Claire's scenario left and yes to RE3.
I mean you can skip to RE4 if you want since it summarizes every thing that happened thus far in the opening monologue and you already completed Leon's campaign so you'd be free from spoilers.
I'd say finish the original trilogy then move onto 4.
>>
You need to go back to re1 and play Jill's campaign and then play re2 in the right order, that's Claire A and Leon B
>>
>>340480235

You need to put it down and realize that you're playing the same overrated game twice.

RE3 or die
>>
dont rush it, jill chris, leon a, claire b, and then claire a, leon b which is the canon order
>>
You should play whatever games you like.
>>
>>340480984
>>340481210
Sounds good, thank you anons.
>>
Anyone who suggests playing both Chris AND Jill routes in RE1 back-to-back is not really saying this with you in mind.

Don't play them both. Maybe consider Claire > Leon, but at least Claire and then RE3 if you wanna play the old ones.
>>
>Nobody telling op to play Code Veronica.

The fuck is wrong with you people? Play CV after 3. It's really necessary or you won't understand why the main villi an is what he is and why
>>
>>340481628
I might do that then actually and then play jill when I eventually get REmake. I was most confused about 3 since I either hear its a master piece or not even worth your time.
>>
>>340480235
Its up to you, I've never played through Chris scenario in RE1 because I hate Chris, and yeah you should play RE3 its a pretty important game the skippable one would be Code Veronica but I honestly don't recommend skipping any.

Man it's weird that Capcom labeled the discs the way they did since most new players are playing the non canon story first.

Play all of them up to RE4. Including Outbreak and Survivor. Then never play RE4 and the ones that come after. Don't let 17 year olds and "Game Journalists" lie to you and tell you that RE4 is the best in the series.
>>
>>340481817
3's definitely considered to be a great RE game. I think it's probably the high-point mechanically of the PS1 era RE games, it's pretty actiony and very exciting.

I really like it a lot.

>Play the classic PS1 RE1, both Jill and Chris scenarios
>Play RE1 HD Remaster for PC next
>Play RE0 if you want, not really obligatory since it's kinda mediocre
>Play RE2 Claire A -> Leon B for canon story
>Play RE3 on Hard for gun parts whenever you fight Nemesis, practice dodging a lot
>Play RE4
>Skip RE5
>Skip RE6

There are some other titles like Outbreak and Gun Survivor, but I'll leave these up to you to decide.
>>
>>340482397
RE5/6 are both good games.
>>
>>340480984
Code Veronica?

>>340481791
Code Veronica is the true RE4
>>
>>340482481
>RE5/6 are both good games.

They are not.

Same with the Revelations games, they are mediocre at best.
>>
>>340482397
Bad, stupid advice.
>>
>>340481915
Not the best in the series. But a great game nonetheless with tons of content. Stop memeing.
>>
>>340482597
Yeah they are. Agree with Revelations though.
>>
So what are the chances that RE7 gets shown off at E3? Revelations 3? Or perhaps the RE2 remake?
>>
Play outbreak after you beat 12&3, all the scenarios in outbreak have correlations with the campaigns of 12&3. It's fun to watch random raccoon citizens run through areas the main characters have just been or are about to be in.
>>
>>340482584
CVX was pretty good too.
I was just more or less concentrating on the original trilogy and RE4 in question.
>>
>>340482984
>>340483240
So what you guys are saying is just play all of them
>>
>>340483350
No, the Outbreak and guncon games are pretty bad.
>>
>>340483350
Pretty much, yeah. I like the people who start enjoy the older games and also the new ones instead of complaining all of the time.
>>
>>340482257
That's one bad ass highschool girl.
>>
I recommend them all except shit like Operation Raccoon City, the gunconn games (umbrella chronicles is one of these), Dead Aim, and RE 6.

RE1, 2, 3, CV, 4, 5, Outbreak 1 and 2, RE 1 HD (the one that came out on gamecube and is now on steam and PS3/4/Xbox/whatever), and 0 are all great Resident Evils.
>>
>>340483569
>>340483634
>>340483878
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll probably finish all these by the time 7 is considered old.
>>
>>340483878
6 is better than 5 though
>>
>>340483569
Outbreak 1 & 2 are great games in the series. Survivor is neat as well. Fuck off.
>>
>>340484451
The Outbreaks are mediocre to bad, and there's no reason to play them over other titles in the series other than some poor fanservice.

Survivor/Dead Aim are outright trash.
>>
>>340484202

>6 is better than 5 though

6 is the worst game in the series. 5 may have not been the best, but at least it didn't suck like Resident Jakester 6: Leon Returns.
>>
>>340484802
>6 is the worst game in the series

Good joke.
>>
REmake: both scenarios good but you don't really need both for the whole story
RE2: again both are good, but u should definitely do an A B playthrough. Since you already did leon A there is no reason not to do claire B.
RE3: it is more action then the others. Some love it, some don't. It doesn't really add much from RE2 story wise.
CVX: I liked it more than 3, but I like claire. It's story is silly but sets up for future installments.
4: it's good. The characters and gameplay make the game better then previous installments. The 3rd person view is huge departure but works well.
5: would be better if the AI wasn't shit. Not as good as 4, in fact some people might find it awful, but it is ok. Play coop if you can.
6: Best gameplay and coop but the story is bad, especially considering the series isn't known for good story. Mercenaries is great and the experience isn't bad in coop.
4>2>6 merc>RE>CV>6>5>3
I don't include spinoffs but revelations and rev 2 aren't horrible and add to the story if you play rev after 4 and rev2 after 5.
>>
>>340484727
Outbreak is a good spinoff though.
>>
>"Where do I start in this series" General
Allow me to answer this question for everyone who plans to ask it for whatever video games series ever:
At the start.
If you don't like it, then go to the next one.
>>
>>340483569
Outbreak is awesome, the AI is quirky, but nothing can compete with real players. The puzzles were entertaining, and knowing all players are already infected made gameplay frantic. It's still a very playable game, but I could see how it lacks appeal to all but a niche audience.

Play REmake's Real Survival or Invisible Enemy mode eventually. They're both fun as hell.

I barely finished Real Survival with Chris. Had 0 ammo and Rebecca had to end up killing Tyrant herself.
>>
>>340488882
Real Survivor is tons of fun but man I suck at Invisible Enemy Mode that shit is hard.
>>
>>340490447
It's really memorization more than anything. Also defense items play a way bigger role obviously.
>>
>>340481210
How does that make any sense though within the context of the game?

Right before the car crash in the opening cutscene Leon is shown driving the car. When they crash, they do a full 360 swerve still facing the same way they started out, then the truck crashes into them. Both characters escape through their respective sides.

So it stands to reason Leon (having just jumped out of the drivers seat) would have the "A" scenerio, while Claire (who was in passenger seat) would get "B'.

How is this confusing and at what point is this ever retconned outside the non-canon comic books?
