>2017: Judgement day from Terminator
>2019: Blade Runner
>2027: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
>2087: Alien
>2508: Dead Space
>30000: Horus Heresy

Which of those is the most likely to happen judging from todays perspective?

Feel free to add events from other games and movies to the timeline.

Hillary Clinton is the president in that game.

Add a decade or two to Deus Ex and I'd say its the most believable out of all of those. If the HH will happen that means the beloved Emperor is walking among us right now.
>>
>>340442548

That would mean we would have to colonise moon in 2045.

Deus ex but with a few extra years ahead of it.

According to Hawking and other smart fucks, Judgement Day is a possibility.

People are alreay getting augmented so Deus Ex is semr-true more so if you're and /x/-phile with all the Majestic 12/Illuminati stuff

>Still no AI

Come on, AI is going to appear in our lifetime. Unless we die in some tragic death. But I expect it to appear in probably like 20 years from now, possibly even 10.
>>
Dead Space and Deus Ex HR are the most doable.
Judgement day requires a setup with a skynet level computer villain, we are mid 2016 and there is no such thing.
Blade Runner is similarly out of the picture, replicants are too advanced, let alone all of the background info like mining space colonies.
Alien is too soon for space exploration/colonization in that scale.
Horus Heresy is so far in the future it's impossible.

We're not going to make self-aware AI by next year, Terminator is out

Blade Runner is also out, we're not even close to making synthetic humans, let alone sentient AI.

Dude Sex is fairly likely, the technology in it isn't that far off.

Alien is somewhat unlikely, we'll need to invent FTL travel and colonize a significant portion of the near galaxy.

Dead Space is in the same boat but it portrays a decently realistic portrayal of the future, I think.

Deus Ex HR's aug tech by 2027 is VERY feasible, but the affordability for an average joe to aug himself up isn't likely.

Also, they probably wouldn't. Prosthetic legs have enabled people to run faster since the 90s, but you don't see people chopping their legs off to get them. Working 100% artificial hearts exist, but there isn't anyone lining up to voluntarily get their hearts replaced.

Titanium (ten times more than on earth)
Helium 3,
Aluminum,
Calcium,
Iron

You can make lunar installations with aluminium and calcium alone. Since calcium can make ceramics and pure calcium metal is an electrical conductor on par with copper. Also, production of aluminum from anorthite create calcium as a byproduct.

Mining the moon to make launch bases is needed if we want to colonize further.
>>
>>340447749
The only nanomachines in development and working right now are designed to release medicine inside you. They're glorified gel capsules. That's where nanomachines for use inside living things is at right now. It's fucking nothing, there's no telling.

>2017: Judgement day from Terminator
The nuclear apocalypse in Terminator was triggered by an AI which had control of America's nukes. True AI achieved one year from now? Impossible.
>2019: Blade Runner
We're well on our way to corporations completely owning and controlling the governments of the world, this could well be the case in 3 years, this could well be the case now. Synthetics indistinguishable from humans with true AI, on the other hand, in 3 years? Impossible.
>2027: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Augmented super humans in 11 years? We already have fully functional robotic limbs today, this is pretty feasible.
>2087: Alien
Humanity taking to the stars and becoming a space fairing civilization in 71 years? Could be possible.
>2508: Dead Space
If we aren't space fairing in 492 years then we'll have blown ourselves up. Otherwise, sure. Literally magic space zombies though? Nah.
>30000: Horus Heresy
Mankind going through a technological singularity, only for the race of AI machines to then turn on man in the most catastrophic war in all of history, resulting in the decimation of man but an ultimate victory, after which AI is strictly banned, a new dark age begins and man kind regresses to a xenophobic religious autocracy? Entirely possible. Magic space aliens and demons? Not so much.

I'm gonna have to go with Dude Sex.

If any of those things creates a significant improvement from the average person, and we suddenly enter a major world conflict, you can bet your ass the rich countries will be auging their soldiers up ASAP with a proprietary ownership clause such that the auged person is now a ward of the state with no bodily autonomy, since their body is state property, of course

So we could have GitS with the right circumstances in the next 10-30 years

Alien(s), dead space - soft sci-fi, mere fairy tales, not far from Star Wars. No any real space exploration is possible without new disruptive techs how to get the hella lot of things to at at least a low earth orbit. Not such techs in sight, not even Musk's with his impressive landing stumps close. A fusion rocket could be a solution, but big monsters like ITER are cash practically cesspools with no deadlines and small ones are underfunded and unproved. If miraculously we get the techs - why not, all other techs how to sustain a human life and a working machine in space are already here. But it won't look like giant spaceships cruising through space.
Avatar in that regard is a hard core science fiction about space. Yes, shitty plot, but otherwise totally plausible.
Also interstellar, while having a lot of plot and technical holes, plays fairly well on the actual look.
Blade Runner - in some regards is plausible. But hey, replicants are almost humans. We can't grow a mouse embryo past several hundred cells outside a womb, not just humans. And any in utero modified entity will possibly have the same rights as anyone else.
Deus Ex - the most plausible and technically accurate. The 2016 - we have osteontegrated prostehsis with microprocessor controllers and some rudementery neurointerface. Also we have artificial retinas with crude vision restoration, cochlear implants and of course we have an artificial hearts in the bag, who could sustain a relatively fine life for months and years. If the humanity does not perish in a nuclear war - we gotta have all of this.
Terminator - made by the same guy who later made Avatar. He plays attention to details. Maybe it's closest to what could be in the future. In the bad one.
What scares me is life's started to make the future pretty quick. Yesterday we only read about AI, quantum computing and neural networks, today we see them implemented in the everyday life. If we teach AI, i doubt it will grow peaceful and wise.

Human revolution was the most moderate and down to earth thing on your list and even that relied on a genetic abnormality/genetic engineering of Adam.

Blade Runner has things like space travel to other planets and shit. Terminator is terminator let's be real. Horus Heresy was in the year 3000?
>>
>>340457691
if the world resisted the barbarian invasions i'm sure we could have seen these things
>>
>>340457221
It's sad. Everything from cellphones to a lot of medical techs were developed for the military. We have small computers because they needed to fit guidance systems in ballistic rockets to guide them toward total destruction. For the same reasons they developed nuclear reactors -to breed weapon grade plutonium, electricity was and still is a by product ( except for nuke submurines, but they carry nukes too). Space program actually stemmed from the ballistic missile development. Until it was't perspective as a weapon, it interested just talented, but marginal scientist as Goddard or Tciolkovsky.
That's one of the reason we don't have working fusion reactors, moon bases or even valuable space colonization. Fusion reactors do not produce weapons. Space colonization do not increasing military budgets, we have nobody to threaten and bomb there. Our progress in major stalled after we'd developed H-bombs strapped on ballistic rockets - they're perfect for we like the most -killing each other.
