Blizzard's Warcraft IP only became so because GW's holding company didn't take to the idea. Blizzard wanted creative control of the universe and GW wouldn't have allowed that. Blizzard already had made a fucking metric ton of assets and code for the Warhammer game as part of their pitch, so when that didn't work out, they reskinned a lot of it and renamed it Warcraft.

That movie was fun. I have no idea what those faggots are complaining about. Sure, the story isn't amazing and the actors did only an okay job, but the visuals are great and it felt great to see all those familiar things from Warcraft lore on the big screen. It's a popcorn movie, but one that doesn't make me kill myself like the Transformers movies. It's about a 6/10, but it's at least well-animated and the CGI looks gorgeous. But I guess someone who isn't a Warcraft fan will see this much differently. I went to the movie expecting the biggest turd ever and it honestly wasn't that bad. Other than some lore-raping moments, the main problem IMO was that it lacked focus; splitting the movie between orcs and humans meant that the characters didn't get enough time to develop.
For instance, Lothar and Medivh are supposed to be besties, but you never see them being friends.The one that gets the most attention is Durotan, who is also the most annoying character in the movie, because they tried way too hard to make him sympathetic. The CGI also looked poor in some places, like when they are indoors, but was fine most of the time. there's also a lot of things that would make no sense to someone who never played the games; they never explain that Medivh was being used by Sargeras, for instance.
Overall, I enjoyed it, and thought it was at least better than the pieces of shit that were the Hobbit movies and probably the best game-movie I have seen, too (which is not saying much). But then again, I liked the Mortal Kombat movie, so maybe my opinion is not relevant.
