The plan was to show all the stuff we haven't seen (Mickey in the RoD, Riku during Days/KH2, some more of Xemnas and how he came to know about Ven's body, some other stuff) in a full game called Birth By Sleep 2. They ended up scrapping it for the time being, this was in like 2011, and continued production of kh3D. Then Nomura said they were planning on putting Aqua's BBS2 episode into the KH3 plot, along with some of the flashback stuff. Then he said that KH3 was getting loaded up with content, and cut out Aqua's segment and threw it into KH2.8. Apparently we will still get some of the flashback stuff in KH3.
