I agree, the story is fun, it is a neat little summary, but DCs problem is that the books are all over the place, so it is hard to even get a sense that there was a current state of the DCU. I mean, DS War, powerless superman, superheavy, and superman getting his powers back but dying were all taking place at different times in the DCU timeline but they were all being published within a month or two of each other. DC didn't really have a current world state because no one was exercising tight editorial control.
Still, kinda looking forward to Injustice 2. But I must have Cheetah. Though I am a huge batman fan.

The whole meta story is how people love Watchmen despite it being a story by Alan Moore on how NOT to do super heroes by making them edgy shits. Watchmen has been inspiring writers to take stories as edgy as possible because they want to emulate Watchmen by making it realistic. DC Rebirth is them essentially acknowledging that and saying, yes we are stepping away from our edgy takes on our characters and bringing back what comics really meant, a cast of characters with family and history that you all love and the main person behind this missing love is due to a heartless person who is controlling everything behind the scenes.
For them to fight against Watchmen is to say, we dont want DC to be edgy anymore we want it to embody hope. So far the comics are fixing things but things are beginning to look a lot better than it was a year or two ago.

Idk why, but NRS just refuse to accept that the 2D fighting genre isn't as malleable as they want it to be, so they end doing things that end up hurting their games more than helping it.
