I'd like to point out first that I'm not a genwunner, I've played one game from every generation and I've liked pretty much all of them except for Gen 4. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I'm sick and fucking tired of all these disney evil criminal organizations and best friend rivals.
Team Rocket was always kind of goofy to be sure, but they had had a semi-believable goal. They steal, exploit and abuse pokemon for profit. Evil to be sure, but they're getting something real out of it. In every generation since 2, there's been some organization that's been hell bent on destroying the fucking planet just for kicks. It's stupid, it's incredible, and I desperately wish it would stop.
Gary was a dick. Like a grade school bully. He teased you, he taunted you, and it made you want to beat him. It was satisfying to beat him. From the third generation on this friendly rivalry takes all the fucking satisfaction out of beating your rival. It also doesn't help that every fight in Gen 6 was piss easy. There were two fights in the entire game where your opponent actually had six pokemon and one of those was the Elite 4 champion.

I haven't played gen 5 yet, but I enjoyed that Lysandre in XY was actually not just evil for the sake of it/personal gain/being retarded and actually had somewhat admirable goals even if he was being hitler about it.

I don't understand the logistics they used for trainer Pokemon movesets. They are LITERALLY just what the Pokemon would normally learn. Exegutor only has 3 moves because it doesn't actually learn anything once it evolves. By contrast, if it was an Exegute, its moveset would just be stun spore, poison powder, solarbeam, and sleep powder. Gym Leader pokemon were different in that the final Pokemon (eg Onix, Starmie) had one move which was the Gym Leader's TM.

There was a core group of about 30-40 people who actually made content rather then just voted in surveys. Eventually the anons who didn't do much but suggest ideas and vote started to dwindle off and the threads slowed, and those 30 people having to wait weeks for anons just to vote in surveys started to hold it back too much and they decided to just do it on their own.
the anons and even a number of people in that core group were (rightfully) pissed that it wasn't going to be led by community input but the devs have IMO at least done a pretty good job of being open to people joining if they want

Some of these designs need much better art.
The art for mons like Vipii , Chelonite and Capig are outstanding, but shit like Growmoo, Gigard and Leafish are disgustingly bad.
It's not even a need for better art, portions of their design just need to be outright changed.
For example, Gigard and Terratetra should have their rocks a bit more cartoony and noticeable like pebbolsa, which has a cleaner design. The blue gem bits just look off.
Ketruffle could be good but should be more bloated and chubby on it's stem portion, while it's evolved forms could use much more bulk and perhaps a bit of simplification with their mushrooms.
Leafen and Chlorofin really need some improvements when it comes to coloration, but overall need a cleaner re-draw.

All of them will eventually get new art done by the same person who did the starters, harpee, capig, fawning, and koblin lines etc, as he's really good at drawing things in the official pokemon art style.
You'll note for example Pebblosa has art done by him, but it's evolutions don't yet.
So a lot of what you desribe will probably get corrected, but the designs themselves are final so actual design features and proportional stuff won't get changed in that transition unless it's due to the artist fot the original art being shit or because the pokemon art protrays those things a certain way (IE, incorperal stuff in official pokemon art, like fire or gas always has colored outlines rather then black outlines)

I started with RBY
Gen 2 was pretty much a direct upgrade in every way
Gen 3 lost some of the original charm but did a ton of new stuff really well and captured the "spirit" of RBY more then GSC did I feel even if the art style and such was changed from both of them.
Gen 4 is where it started to all go downhill in terms of creativity and art style and the rivals being shits and all that but Platniium and HGSS are unquestionably heads and shoulders above the ones prior to them mechanically.
I skipped gen 5.
Gen 6 added a lot of little improvements that got me interested but are casualized to hell and back.

probably won't happen. The devs are super autistic about not allowing changes to the original designs because of slippery slopes. Sometimes changes get through, but it's rare and it turns into a shistorm when it happens. The one mon where it probably will is Jaguile because it's original art was garbage with proportions and they've just done whatever with it in subsequent art and it's spritework.
Though the proportions in the art for it in that dex image are the ones they tend to stick to the most
