Survivors get 3rd person PoV and they can throw obstacles in front of the killer in set areas.
Use the killers limited FOV to your advantage.

Survivors will adapt and learn to keep juke routes in sight at all times with an ear out for your bell, and you won't have traps to cut off their routes anymore. Wraith is probably going to be the worst of the three as far as I can tell since he has no way to monitor an area he's not in aside from survivors fucking up skill checks without the chase potential the hillbilly will probably have.

You can hear them if you walk past the locker they are in, you can check them by ear which is faster if youre competent.
Also always check for crows on lockers, if a survivor is sat in a locker for a period of time crows start landing on it.

Honestly, when I get put in the lobby with Locker users, it's usually also a group of people who like to try and fuck with the Killer. The main deal about that one building is that there are like 9 lockers, some of which are over 2 flights of stairs. Sometimes it's too subtle for me to catch. I was just rewatching footage from my games the other day and I literally ran by A Survivor hiding in the grass

The killer is faster than the survivors running, but the survivors are WAY faster than the killer at moving past obstacles. As in, it takes the killer like 5 seconds to climb through a window and survivors just jump through it in under a second. Survivors also get a large speed boost for a few seconds when the killer hits them, and after the killer strikes he stops to do a wind down animation.
Survivors can also find and use items to give them an advantage. They can never kill the killer, but they can stun him, deny him resources, and undo the damage that he causes. A coordinated team of survivors with toolboxes can destroy every aboveground hook on the map and repair five generators in minutes.
I would say that the way it is currently balanced is good, because survivors are not strictly speaking on a team. If the killer kills someone else, it has no impact on you beyond the fact that he might come for you next. And anyone the killer manages to kill gives him points. You shouldn't treat it like L4D Vs. mode. It's not a team game. If you live, you win. If you die and all the other survivors escaped, you lost.

They can't allow partied play without totally breaking solo queue. Can't be done. It's a flaw that comes with a game being 4v1. You can't match parties against parties.
If you allow this then either a: the killer gets fucked by teams of 4 coordinated survivors or b: you buff the killer to compensate and anyone trying to play survivor without a team gets fucked

This only works if the survivors aren't working together, or if they don't properly check areas. I consistently go around a generator area and have a known to be safe exit route planned before I ever start repairing it. That includes hook removal. I also will keep track of good spots to juke, like the killer's shack and constantly check up to make sure you haven't been trapping it, and sabotage any traps you do set there to give me free entry and exit. Only time you're going to catch a good survivor is if you force them to run to an area they haven't been able to check yet. The trap setting is also loud enough to be pretty easy to tell when you're trying to ambush after an unsuccessful chase. I will be nearby, I will see it and I will get rid of it as soon as your back is turned.

The highest I've seen is a rank 13. Gave my team a run for our money, I ended up being the only one to escape through the hatch with 12,000 points in altruism and 33,000 overall. Fuckers kept getting caught and you can only unhook them so many times. Dude was vicious with his traps though, thank god he didn't have the add-on that incurs dying state on a healthy survivor.

Not really, both survivors and Killer are OP, the thing is, shitty killer won't find a single survivor beacuse he doesn't realise you can hear survivors or that you can predict their movement and trick them and shittty survivor is also this way beacuse he doesn't hide and fuck ups the skill check all the time.
I consider myself pretty good killer considering I managed to hook the full toolbox team using only basement hooks and rarely anyone manages to escape but when I'm in match with good survivor it's nearly impossible to find him and if there are few they can easily win.
In general things are only OP beacuse a good player uses them, I like it beacuse it feels like the game is very skill based.

Trapping people nets alot of points, but I barely use traps i normally see someone within the first 20-30 seconds of the match and dont have time, i just trap the odd window and pallete and especially the juke building which usually pays off, i normaly just go around downing them all and once thats done i just search for the crying and then hook them all. That tactic can net 12-14k points without any trap use.
20-26k with heavy trap use but a couple usually get away when i go that route, i feel i waste so much time trapping it gives them alot time to do gennies so 1-2 usually get away.

Generally speaking, vaults, the outside, in the grass by a gen or on the catwalk on Shelter Forest I think it is are excellent places for a trap. Also rotate your traps if you need to.If you're up against an aggressive team you're not going to be able to dick around with traps too much. However, in this instance hooking a survivor will lead to others trying to help.
Feigning bear trap placements is also an excellent, underrated tactic, especially if they're swarming your hook. You can also place traps by chests.
I usually like to do 2 traps right off the bat if I can, then patrol. If all is still quiet I set one more and go back to patrol. If you don't have Insidious, traps are even more important, as I never got it.

Under your idea of a Old killer with a Gun an idea can be said that instead of being too slow he has an average speed compared to most, which makes the gun important to his gameplay.
His first attack could be a melee bash with the gun that takes 3 hits to knock a survivor over and the secondary ability can be aiming the gun which requires shooting. The shot will set them into bleeding immediately and a second will down them.
To make it so his gun isn't overpowered it would of course be a form of rusty rifle or single barreled shotgun that would require reloading from points in the map like the trappers bear traps.
So in short:
Old man killer with gun would:
Move at a survivors walk
Be effectively weaker than melee killers before add ons
Require light resource management
But I believe that'd keep him in line with the currently known killers.

My original idea was something like that. A double-barreled shotgun with very little range, and you took about a second to actually line up a shot before firing.
The downside I originally thought up though was that firing makes him go through an extremely long reload animation, similar to when you land a melee strike except whether you hit or miss. This is why the whole "One close range shot and they're down" thing would be handy, since otherwise the gun would be pretty bad compared to just melee.
This is all just stupid fanfiction though, I guess.

I maxed my characters, reset my profile and got it both times. It seems like the chance of it actually activating are very low though. I've played at least 50 matches with it equipped and it still hasn't activated. All offerings are one time use, as in if it's activated it gets consumed. And no, nothing in the beta carries over.

I make a habit of setting up traps inside those juke-houses with two windows that are literally impossible to catch a survivor in. Takes away their strongest escape option, though they could probably disarm a trap in the time it takes me to walk to the door, but they never do cus' they're panicking and usually blunder into them.
ANYWAYS, one time I did this almost immediately when the game started when I noticed sprint-scratches in the room. I think to myself, "Now why the hell would somebody be sprinting here so soon?"
Sure enough, there was a dude rummaging through a chest in the basement. So I cleave him once, he runs away, gets trapped, I pick him up and drop him, reset the trap, then hook him in the basement.
Not TEN SECONDS later do I hear TWO TRAPS going off SIMULTANEOUSLY. The poor bastards hopped through either window at the exact same time. I was laughing so hard I almost fucked up picking them up. The guy in the basement unhooked himself and made things a little more difficult, but I got all of them in the end.

Those are offerings, not perks. Once equipped, there's a chance they'll activate at the start of the match. It'll show them on the screen and then they'll burn away. They can alter the match in different ways (darker moon, different map, extra points for certain actions, etc.). Once activated, they're consumed. Perks are permanent though.
